Reunions (Tinkerbell)
Rufio had had nothing less than a blast with Enigma, setting fire to buildings in the City and causing general mayhem. And it certainly stirred up the troublemaking blood in his veins. After only a day of sleeping off the initial rowdiness, Rufio had struck up his old habits, skating through the streets and alternating pickpocketing and taunting different adults to get them riled up, and tagging buildings and signs with the Lost Boys' symbols and drawings.

After a few days he decided to take a break, and getting a lunch of sugary cakes and soda from the local convenience store he went to a building with a nice roof for sitting and observing, and perched on the edge, putting down his skateboard and danging his legs over the side. He munched on one of the chocolate cakes and looked around, wondering what Enigma was up to, and what he could cause on his own. He also wondered if the Mayor had noticed thier trouble making, and if it was disrupting for him. The tri-hawked teenager hoped it was.

As the first sugar ruch kicked in he laughed at the look that might have been on Jack's face, and leaned back, letting out one of his victory crows. He'd visit the mayor soon and make sure the old man knew who'd set fire to the government buildings. Maybe it would be enough to kick up another fight.

Tink had sort of been wandering, or fluttering rather, through the streets. This was all so new to her, they didin't have things like this in Neverland, and it was so hard to communicate with the humans here. In Neverland, they could understand her, here their ears couldn't pick up her voice. It was very frustrating to say the least. She was so tiny, too, it wasn't even worth trying to talk to anyone or interact at all. Why couldn't she have just died in peace? That was what she'd been so ready to do. Her life was over, Peter was gone, her heart had been shattered, and now she was homeless and had nothing to wear as well as no friends that she knew of.

Slowly, she cascaded on the wind, eyes squinting against the harsh, dry sun, before she halted mid-flutter, her blue eyes widening as far as they could, upon seeing something tri-colored sitting up on a rooftop. She knew that arrangement of colors anywhere, and suddenly Tink's heart skipped a beat. Tears welled up in her tiny little eyes and streamed down her cheeks, she was so happy.

"RUFIO!" She shouted, flying with all of her might, on her tiny little wings in the direction of that massive hairdo, slamming hard into the side of Rufio's head, clinging to him, "I THOUGHT I'D NEVER SEE YOU AGAIN!" She shouted at him, knowing he could hear her voice, at least she hoped so. Things were different in this world, and he may not even remember her. Slowly, she pulled back from him, giving him a bashful look, settling herself down next to him on the rooftop, hoping she didn't scare him too badly. She had just been SO excited to see him. Finally, someone that could at least translate for her if he was around at the appropriate time. And she had a friend, someone she actually knew and used to live with.

This day couldn't get any better. This world was pretty scary and new, it was nice to have some familiarity.

Rufio started slightly at the shout, just barely able to register the tiny body that hit his hair. He turned as the little person settled on the roof next to him.

After so long away from Neverland, it took him a second to recognize her, but then he let out a whoop.

"TINK!" he yelled, just as excited as she was. He swept her up in his arms and pulled her in.

He let her go quickly, knowing she didn't like to be hugged, but he was just as pleased as she was to find somebody from home. "Tink, where'd you come from?! Did you get sucked into this lousy world too?"

She definitely didn't like being hugged, it killed her wings, but she allowed Rufio to hug her because the occassion called for it, and she was thrilled to see him. She fluttered into the air after he released her from the hug, and she glared at him for only a moment, before a smile crept onto her lips again, unable to contain her happiness. It was literally still spilling out over the bottoms of her eyelids and down the swells of her cheeks.

"I don't know how I got here." She explained softly, looking down at the rooftop beneath her feet that were hovering, "I remember being in my bed, in my little house...." She began, missing her little house already, "..and I woke up here." She told him, looking up at him again. "This place...it's so big and so strange. I've seen a few strange humans too...some of them smell funny." She said, wrinkling her nose with distaste, though that wasn't a terrible thing. Some creatures just naturally had different odors.

"Nobody here can understand me, Rufio. It's so hard." She said, sniffling a little, moving to sit on his shoulder, leaning her whole body against his neck, closing her eyes. He smelled like home, even still, and she loved it.

Rufio nodded, completely sympathetic to how she was feeling. He remembered how weird it was for him when he first got here.

When she sat on his shoulder he leaned his head just slightly to make it easier for her to reach. "Yeah. The people here are old and slow and boring. And nobody plays or fights well..." he said. He paused. "There's nobody else from Neverland here. No other Lost Boys, or pirates, or indians.... A lot more than some of them smell funny, too."

He offered her a piece of his sugary cake. "But I can understand you, so if you need to say anything to anybody, then tell me. And if they're mean I'll stab them through." His hand dropped to the hilt of his golden sword for emphasis, though he was grinning. He knew how she was feeling, but how could he be sad? He'd missed Neverland so much, and now a piece of it was here with him. And maybe she'd finally let him fly again.

She just didn't get it. It was like the world wanted her to suffer through her heartbreak by even denying her death. It was discouraging. But at least now she knew she wasn't alone.

When Rufio explained that they were the only ones from their world, Tink just sighed, homesick. She was even starting to miss the mermaids. She had really taken a shine to the lost boys, especially after Peter had left for good, since they were all she had really had left to remind her of their adventures with Peter. Maybe it was good to be in a world that wouldn't remind her of the boy that had broken her heart. Maybe this was a sign to move on and start over. Maybe.

She found it encouraging that Rufio wold protect her and she gladly accepted the small bit of cake, shoving the sugary treat into her mouth. She hadnt had a decent meal since she'd arrived here. Usually she ate when the boys had and since there hadnt been any, food had been scarce. Her wardrobe needed freshening up as well, considering she didn't have any of her things here.

She would let Rufio fly any time he asked her, without hesitation. They had to stick together now, and keep their world alive in their hearts.

Rufio looked out over the skyline of the City, tilting his head. "Hey, you know, this place is bleak. C'mon, Tink, there's a better place for us."

He turned, grabbing his food and cans of spray paint and climbing down the side of the building. It was a short skateboard trip away till he relocated the warehouse he converted, and slunk into carefully. He'd replaced all of the traps Enigma's man had tripped on his way in.

Inside the large converted storage area Rufio hit the switch that turned on all of the christmas lights that lit the chaotically constucted and brightly painted interior. It was as close to Neverland as anyplace in this City got.

"This is our home here. I can make you another apartment too, if you want," he looked at her. She didn't have Peter here, and he knew she'd miss him, but he could take care of her too. He was a Pan too, after all.

Wiping crumbs from her mouth with her fingers, Tink took to the air and began to fly alongside the skateboarding youngster, slipping into the warehouse that he had converted, looking at all of the lights. It was better than nothing and was as close to home as they were going to get.

She floated forwards into the vast space, her tears finally drying up, nodding a Rufio, "yes please. This is perfect." It would take her a while to get over Peter, but she would and now she had Rufio whom indeed was a Pan.

Maybe things would be alright now, in this ugly forest of concrete and other things she didn't know about. There was still so much she had to learn, she wouldn't even know where to begin.

Rufio smiled at her. His home wasn't much, he knew, but at least the spirit of Neverland was somewhat captured.

"Ok, Tink. I'll make one for you right away," he said, tossing his skateboard to the side and then sitting down on a paint splattered crate. He looked at her. "So, how're the Lost Boys?" he asked, trying to sound like he really didn't care. They were his family, though, and even though he didn't think he could return to them after having grown so much, they still mattered to him and occupied his thoughts when he didn't intentionally focus on other things. "Did they wonder where I went? Did they think I abandoned them, too?"

The space they were sharing may not have been home, but it was better than nothing and the fact that Rufio was there made it more like home to her than anything else she had seen so far. So what if it was just lights and a bunch of spray paint? As long as Tink had Rufio, they could live on the street and she would feel just as much at home.

"Thank you!" She said with a smile, fluttering close to the walls, taking in the paint and the feel of the room. When he asked her about the Lost Boys, she turned back to Rufio, fluttered over to him and settled down on the small space of the crate that was left. That was the good thin about her, she didint require much room or space. "They were confused at first, like I was. They miss you terribly, but they moved on." She explained, "I missed you too." She said, looking up at her friend, "the hardest part was watching Peter leave for the last time." She said, sniffling, looking down at her tiny feet, not wanting to trouble Rufio with her tears over Peter Pan.

Rufio bit his lip and looked at the floor. "I didn't choose to come here. I hate it here. I tried everything to get back, but, it's weird. You can't leave this world unless you're allowed," he said, voice heavy with biterness. He despised the idea that the others had thought he'd abandoned them. Even moreso knowing the pretender had gotten to stay.

"Maybe he was the real Peter, if he left again. Don't cry for him, Tink, that's stupid. He left us on purpose. You should be mad."

She sniffled and listened, wiping at her tears with the tiny tips of her fingers as the crystal droplets coursed over the swells of her cheeks. It was hard watching the man that stole your heart leave forever with another woman. She might be tiny, but she still had a heart and Peter had smashed it apart. "I want to go home, Rufio. It's so strange here." She said, feeling a little better now that her friend was at her side. She didn't know how strange this world really was, she didn't know about all of the human things that now resided in this world with her. She wasn't familiar with modern technology either, the humans could barely understand her as it was. It was frustrating being a tiny little pixie.

"I was mad, Rufio, but it didn't do any good. He forgot me, I could feel it in my heart, and because of that I started to die slowly, a little more every day, until I ended up here, that is." She explained, sniffling one last time, before leaning against Rufio's knee, closing her eyes.

"I know, Tink. I want to go home too. But we can't," he sighed. He tilted his head to the side, then leaned down and looked her directly in the eye. "But I promise, we'll make this a new home. It stinks and it's dull most days, but there's a different kind of magic here, and cool people if you look around long enough. There's fun stuff to do, we won't be bored."

He paused as she leaned against his knee, then snorted impatiently, flopping backwards on the platform and staring up at the lights on the ceiling. "It stupid for you to die over him. The Lost Boys could have died too, but we decided not to," he said. He'd be absolutely furious if she died on him when she was here, the only one from his world he'd ever met in this place.

She nodded and looked up at him, knowing he was telling we the truth, but what she didn't understand was how she got there or why it had even bothered to safe her. She was just a pixie, nobody important, especially not to anyone outside of their home. Nobody would be able to understand her. At the prospect of having fun stuff to do, Tink smiled bright, fluttered her wings and took to the air, flying in a happy circle, spilling pixie dust onto the floor as she moved. She paused mid air and looked at him, clapping her hands.

She listened to the way he spoke about her dying over Peter, and fluttered over to her friend so that he could see her, landing gently on his chest. She stood there with her hands on her hips, almost irritated, "Rufio, he broke my heart! I'm just a little pixie and I know it was selfish of me to love him, but I did. I was his and he left me for Wendy." She said with a pout, folding her arms over her chest, before snapping out of her mood.

"You're a Pan too, though, Rufio. What if this place brought me here to be your pixie? Like I was for Peter?" She liked that idea. Rufio had always been kind to her, and now he was their leader, especially now that Peter was gone for good.

Her happy flying made Rufio grin, though he shook his head when she got upset with him. He wasn't going to argue with her too much, though. That wasn't a smart thing for anybody to do, and he didn't want to make her leave when they'd only just found each other again.

"You're not allowed to fall in love with me," he said pointedly. He liked Megan, and didn't want Tink to become jealous once she met her. Though, Megan was a pixie too, so there was no real telling how the pair would interact. Then he arched a brow. He wanted to know why all of a sudden she truly believed Peter was gone forever. But.... pushing too much might make her run off, so he nodded.

"Ok, then, Tink, you're my pixie now," he said. "And we'll make this place more like Neverland, even with all the stupid old people." He paused, and looked at her dust as it fell to the ground. "I'd be better at it if I could fly again."

She was happy when he was happy, and that's all she really ever wanted to be. Rufio definitely didn't have to worry about her, as long as she had his friendship she would be okay and all would be well.

Tink was naturally jealous, and meeting another pixie would probably pull that out of her at first but she would get over it and could grow to like another one especially if Rufio liked her. They would get to that point, however, but there was no new to worry about it today. "Rufio I can't love you. You're big." She said, having learned her lesson about human people, they only wanted other human people and she wasn't big like they were. "You just love a big human like you. It's easier that way." She explained, that making the most sense to her.
Nobody said, however that she couldn't be childish about it, and she probably would be, but that was her nature.

When he said he would make this more like their home, she flew in another happy circle, this time around Rufio's head and body, showering him in her magical pixie dust. She would let him fly any time she wanted. Especially since she was his pixie now. She had purpose again and her heart finally began to mend itself.

Rufio smirked. As long as Tinkerbell didn't get mad at him for liking girls, he was happy to have her around. "Good, but I'm not ever gonna love anybody," he said resolutely. Unless it was Megan... but that wasn't something he wanted to admit out loud yet.

When she showered him his entire face lit up, and he closed his eyes, fixating on his happy thought. Suddenly it was that he wasn't alone, that he had Tink now, and that he was finally being recognized by her as the Pan. It had never felt that real before when Peter was gone.

He pushed off the ground and at once the rush of being weightless again filled him, and he laughed out loud. Letting out a crow he darted up to the rafters, then around the room, zooming towards walls and turning at the last minute to propel himself off in the opposite direction.

"YES!" He grinned, and shot after Tinkerbell, the light of a chasing game making his whole face glow. "I missed this so much!!"

"Fine then, meanie!" She teased, sticking her tiny tongue out at him, just being her usual self. She had already been through loving a big human, and look where it had gotten her, in a strange world. Besides, her tiny little heart couldn't take another breaking, and she was having too much fun without complicating things. She, however, did not know about Rufio's love interest and that was going to make for an interesting discovery.

She was his Tink and he was her Pan, her very own and she was going to do whatever it took to keep it that way. Megan might become the next Wendy, to Tink, so Rufio had better think that through very carefully if he wanted them to like each other. Tink was usually very protective of the things that were hers, especially her Pan.

The way his face lit up once he was airborne made her heart swell, oh how he had missed him. She flew around in a circle, happily, and giggled when he chased her around the room, flying away from him easily. She was going to be very happy here as long as she had Rufio. They could even have new exciting adventures, and annoy the older people. How fun!
