Dr. Who has become unstuck in time TAG Jeannie
Enough of this already. The Doctor was a traveler, a scientist without parallel and not happy to be stuck in one place for very long. It was time to go.

“RIGHT!” The Doctor ran around the control room of the TARDIS and prepared fold time-space to get the hell out of this City. It had been 6 attempts so far, but this time he had an “Ace” up his sleeve. His meeting with his old protégé had reminded him that the TARDIS had something in its storerooms. A huge amount of Nitro-9.

It took a few weeks to set the charges all over the City. Careful not to have them in place of any living beings. Every power station, feed and switching grid he found were now rigged to explode with a flip of a switch. To be sure, the Doctor also had constructed an EMP generator that should fry every conventional circuit in 50 miles.

The TARDIS was not conventional.

The Doctor took a few photos, bought a couple of postcards, and made sure to leave a nice note for Ace. The TARDIS powered up, beginning it slow dematerialization. The Doctor smiled to himself and triggered the explosives. The City was rocked by 156 well placed bombs knocking out all the power they could. “AWW now for the icing!” The Doctor flipped a large paddle switch and the EMP sent a blue electronic wave over the City short circuiting anything more complicated than a toaster oven. VWOOORPP VWOOORP VWOOORP! The TARDIS phased out of this reality and fell into a wormhole.

Then it stopped. The Doctor was thrown across the control room, as the force of the deceleration was more than even the inertial dampeners could compensate for. “Oh no, what now.” The Doctor crawled to the console and peered into a viewer to see where he was. He Wasn’t anywhere it turned out The TARDIS was in the time stream, but it was not moving. It was stuck between moments and places. The ship strained around him trying to move on. Reality glimmered at the point the ship had been in the City.

Well that had been very interesting. Jeannie was not entirely certain what had just happened, but there had been many loud pops from various directions, and then there had been the blue light. It was over quickly then everything had sort of gone still. Even sitting on the park bench, Jeannie had noticed the sudden quiet.

Looking around, she wondered what had made the cars and city noises stop like that. It almost made her ears tingle. In face, she lifted one finger to gently rub at one earlobe, tilting her head to the side. As she did so, she noticed something very odd. Very odd, indeed.

There seemed to be a blue box stuck in the sky. There were no wires holding it up, and it did not sit on a pole. And if that was not strange enough, it seemed to be… well… flickering. Like a light bulb about to blow out. What would happen if the box blew out? Could it even do that? Well, it was doing other things a blue box should not be able to do, so perhaps it could.

Watching it curiously for a moment, the djinn noticed that there was writing on the box. In large white letters across the top it said “Police Box” with smaller letters that said “Public Call” between the words Police and Box. Was there a police officer inside the box? Was he trapped? Jeannie utterly loathed the idea of anyone being stuck someplace that they did not wish to be. There was quite a difference between her going to her bottle because she wished to be alone, and being trapped inside her bottle unable to leave. She hated being restrained and did not like to think of anyone else suffering that way either.

And just that quickly, Jeannie decided she needed to rescue the trapped police officer. It was the right thing to do. One arm crossed over the other, held at chest height, and she stood up to blink and nod. But she did not arrive inside a blue box. Instead, she was inside a rather bizarre room with an odd staircase and clothing all over the place. Jeannie stared for a moment then came to the conclusion that she must have misblinked. It seemed to happen sometimes here in The City.

Very quickly, Jeannie blinked herself back to the park, looked up, got a bearing on the blue box again, then blinked. And ended up back in the odd room with the clothes and the staircase. Frowning, she took a moment to think. This obviously could not be the inside of the box. If for no other reason than that she did not see a police officer anywhere. So she tried once more, blinking to her original starting point beside the park bench and concentrating very hard this time. She nodded so emphatically, her fez nearly fell off. But when she opened her eyes, it was the same as before.

Well that was that then. This, wherever it was, had something to do with the blue box. She would simply have to figure out what that was. And where she was. Only then could she help the police officer trapped inside. With a little shrug, she lightly tripped down the spiral staircase, one hand skimming over the oddly warm metal railing. This was very odd indeed, but Jeannie felt no alarm. For some reason, she actually quite liked the place. It could definitely use some pink, though.

And a map, she added to herself fifteen minutes later as she wandered down a hallway. Thus far she had found a greenhouse, a bathroom with a tub the size of a pool, what she could only imagine was some sort of bedroom even though it had not contained a bed, and an art gallery. At least, she thought it was an art gallery. What she had not located, though, was a person. Any person. A place this large should have servants at the very least, should it not? Oh, where was she?

“Hello?” she finally called in mild frustration. “Is anyone here?”

Green steam poured from underfoot as the ship strained. the TARDIS wanted out of this damn City as much as the Doctor did. Still, It could tear itself apart if it continued. The resonant hum of the ships heart filled the air.

A red light blinked incessantly unnoticed on a panel of the control room. Too many other things were happening all at once for the Doctor to see the intruder alarm.

"Is anyone here?" WHAT? How is anyone on the TARDIS? Ace was not on board, and anything short of a Time lord could not even open the front door. The voice did sound more curious and helpful than a Dalek. Oh well, it was not like he had anything more pressing than company.

"That is a good question." The Doctor called out to the distant voice. He considered for a moment. "Follow the noise and through the lab" He paused. "And don't open the red door, It's not fixed yet." It would be rude to have his guest flushed out of the ship.

The Doctor straightened his tie and combed his fingers through his hair. A dial on a pipe containing black liquid shot across the room.

Do not open the red door. It is not fixed. Do not open the red door. It is not fixed. Do not open the red door. It is not fixed. Jeannie repeated it in her mind as she mad her way through what she could only assume was the lab that had been mentioned. But oh, it was very, very tempting to open the red door. She could blink and fix it. Then she could see what was on the other side. Her curiosity was very strong.

But she was just as curious about the man that had yelled at her. He had an accent. Could people with accents become police officers? But then, they were in The City, she supposed that there were all sorts of people that could be policemen here. As difficult as it was, she eased her way past the red door, both without fixing it and without opening it.

She could always come back and do that later.

Jeannie arrived in the control room just in time to dodge what looked like some sort of gauge. Ducking low to avoid getting hit in the face, she exclaimed, “Oh dear!” As she straightened, taking in the room and the contents, her eyes grew wider and she managed to gasp, “Oh my.”

And she had thought the room with the stairs was odd! Then she got a good look at the man standing there. Well he was standing at the moment, but he looked as though he might burst into motion at any second. He wore a suit, and a tie. He had glasses. And tennis shoes.

“You are not a police officer.”

"Err no. Not that I have anything against police in general." Why would she think he was... " OHH the TARDIS!" he exclaimed. "It just looks like that on the outside miss. You are in a spacecraft."

"How are you even here?" The TARDIS groaned in its tug of war against the City. Why was she dressed in ancient Persian would be another valid question, but that one could wait.

"It's a pleasure to have company, but I am afraid I need to get us out of here before we both get torn into atoms." The floor shifted underneath them. The Doctor adjusted his glasses and feverishly worked on shutting down the ship. "Who are you, anyway? I'm The Doctor." A warning bell chimed as something else began leaking in the control room.

Jeannie opened her mouth to reply, but what came out was a rather girly squeal as something greenish oozed across the floor. Her reaction was purely instinctual. Before the viscous fluid could reach her shoes, Jeannie blinked. Not only was the fluid gone, the leak had been repaired to prevent it from happening again.

Satisfied that she was not going to be stained by anything else, she finally said, “I am Jeannie. And I do not think I want to be torn into atoms. I am not sure what an atom is, but it does not sound pleasant.”

She considered what he had said and came to a conclusion. If they stayed here they would be torn up, and she really did not want that to happen. Especially since he seemed like such a nice doctor. She liked doctors in general, and this one looked very interesting indeed. So she would simply have to help him.

Crossing her arms one over the other and holding them at chest height, she blinked and nodded. There was a small flash of light and then both of them were standing on solid ground in the park where Jeannie had first seen the odd blue box. “There,” she beamed, quite pleased with her initiative. “Now we will not be atoms in your space box.”
