Going home for the holidays is stressful!

I'm all caught up for classes so I don't need to worry about relaxing over break and not being prepared when I come back. I've almost finished my shopping (why are so many people coming to family dinner!?!) and got my cards all made out to the people in my building.

I still have so much on my list, and tonight is decorating so that it's all nice and festive!

It's so stressful but I really love decorating! Even if it is just for 3 weeks.

Leave it up an extra week to make up for it?

We're traditionalists, so it's twelve days before and twelve days after.

I wish I knew what a tradition like that felt like

There's always time to make them, they don't even need to be big traditions. My dad was always dedicated to giving my sisters and I things that made us feel settled and safe. So we have a lot of family traditions.

A lot better than some other kids in my situation had it, so I'm pretty grateful for my dada.

I tended to avoid family things. I wish I hadn't.

That's basically what hindsight is all about though.

And maybe some day I can make up for it!

It's only too late if you don't try.

You should. Living with regret is corrosive.
