Things seem faster paced in these new dreams. I pulled the same stunt on the Kobayashi Maru test, and while they were trying to decide if I was to be kicked out of the Academy over it, a distress call came in from Vulcan.
With most of the fleet elsewhere, there were maybe a half dozen ships in Earth space dock and not enough crew for them, so the cadets were dispatched to the ships to respond. With my status still pending, I wasn't allowed to go. Luckily, Bones snuck me on board the Enterprise.
Which was fun considering he gave me an allergic reaction to something so it was a medical emergency.
While we were being briefed, I remembered something. The description of what had destroyed my father's ship, and what had attacked a Klingon fleet. I convinced Pike to come out of warp with the shields up and that was the only reason we survived.
The rest of the fleet was destroyed, and it was the same ship from the day I was born. It was attacking Vulcan, trying to drill into the planet's core. I took a team to attack the drill, which involved and orbital skydive.
We stopped the drill, but they launched something. And the whole planet, it just. It was gone. The enemy ship captured Pike too, leaving Spock in charge of the ship. We got into an argument, he wanted to rendevous with the rest of the fleet, and I thought we needed to get to Earth before it met Vulcan's fate.
Spock had me launched out in an escape pod.
Not exactly the best first impression. I'm still stunned about Vulcan, but I know it has to be eating him up inside.
