I am so confused right now.
This is not about dreams either. This is about my future. And not my future as in do I decide to continue to a master's program just this now or not. I have decided, finally, to turn down the one I had been keeping open as an option, at least for a few years. I would like to get some experience instead, because people do not always take you seriously when you are coming in from being only educated. This means that I am going to be looking for jobs and well. The process of job applications is confusing as anything is confusing.
The labor laws are very confusing here. I have a high IQ and am graduating in a few days, and I still do not understand all of it. They say first that because I have graduated from high school that I am not subject to most labor laws, but then point out that because I am not turning eighteen until later on, there might be some that I have to follow. I don't...what?
I was always allowed to do everything with my job on campus so I had thought that it was going to be the same now. Apparently this is not necessarily the case. Mom is trying to convince me to use the Summer to take a break, or maybe wait until I am eighteen to seriously look, but I do not want to waste the time when I could be doing amazing things n a lab somewhere. It's what I've always wanted, or well, have wanted since that day in the eighth grade when I snuck into the high school lab to test the theories I had been reading about at home. Sure, I was suspended for a long time for being dangerous and unsafe and stealing, but, well, it was worth it when things worked out nicely...
Ah, anyway, you don't want to hear Pavel Chekov's stories of childhood antics gone wrong, and that is not what the network is for. But so, I have wanted to be doing this for a long time, and I am now sending out my resume, which I admit, looks a bit strange, and filling out applications and having to gather my documents and the process is strange and a bit weird for me.
What's also weird is that, technically, I am also a citizen in Russia still, and I do not really know if Russia has room to say anything about me working before I am eighteen. IN Russia this would not be a problem, but the government has been acting strange about things ever since the crazy mother on Doctor Phil videotaped herself being psycho adopter or whatever that was people asked me about at the time. Anyway, they might want to get involved and make things a pain in the ass if they find out, so I have no idea what is going on. And well, technically speaking, my birth certtificate has Mom's name replacing my biological mother's now, so technically that's a lie and defrauding or something and now HER legal name has just changed...
I have no idea where I am going with this, but it is giving me a huge headache. I need an employment lawyer person thing, maybe? Or someone adopted from another country or whose done it who now has a job, has a family member actually working who is under eighteen? ...Or someone who meets SOME of that requirement? Maybe?
In other news, graduation! Very soon. I'm not sure if having a party is appropriate for college or not, but I sort of want to rent out someplace totally childish and let my friends and I run wild in there. Is that just really weird or not?
