X-Men Unite OOC

Hey all,

I apologise for the lateness of this announcement but life has run away with me and I thought/hoped it would have been done already. A mutual decision has been reached by your moderators and that decision is to close Unite due to lack of participation and admittedly a loss of what to do to reinvigorate the community itself.

I want to say thank you to all of those that helped make Unite what it was and hopefully we'll cross paths again in the near future. Thank you again for the interactions and storylines you've helped us create and push through in our storytelling. Keep writing and I hope you find success in another game.

Hello everyone!

A little empty in here, but not a big deal.
I just have a few random questions. :)

When we're in a scene (through a thread or AIM), can we only be in that one scene until it's finished? As in, if Kitty is in a scene with Cyclops, can I simultaneously roleplay her with Mystique?
I understand the time line issue with this, but it seems like it limits how many roleplays can go on, especially if scenes run long. Is that why most of us have several characters?

And Tirc, do you want me to move that Hank&Kitty log onto a thread? It seems like we can never be on at the same time.

Hey everyone!

Okay, just a few activity notes.
I'll be gone this weekend for a winter guard overnight trip, and then from 4th-11thish (the week after next) I'll be in Italy with the band. :) Apparently we get computer access enough to e-mail family, so I might be able to respond to threads, but I'm not making any promises!
So I'd like to get all of it finished before I leave, otherwise I'd feel guilty about tying up your characters. (Until I land in Italy and forget about everything in America. xD)

Well...

This is Mands and as you can probably already guess I've picked up Jean Grey. I will hopefully do her justice and I'll be able to get my head around her, given I've never actually played this character before in my entire experience in the X-Men fandom. Bear with me?

I look forward to getting her involved with everyone and for sanity's sake I have scrapped everything that went before and have started with a clean slate as far as this character goes. I plan on playing her the way I think fit and hopefully it'll be good enough :)

Okay, okay, okay.... I'm back from my AWOLness. And I owe each and everyone of you an explanation for my disappearance. Without getting into all the histrionics of it all....for a long time my parents marriage hasn't been doing so well. They were on the brink of divorce and I found that I couldn't run the game and play it it. Things have seemed to die down here in my house and I'm trying to get back into the swing of things.

I like to give Mands and Willow GIANT THANK YOU for keeping things going when I couldn't. You should thank them too when you get the chance.

Unite is NOT shutting down. I repeat we are continuing the game. I've been running this game now for 3+ years (well...since X2 came out in theaters.) This is my baby and I could never give it up.

We have lost a few people because of this, which is unfortunate, but life will go one. (I will get to that momentarily...) After having discussed things with Mands and Willow we have decide to do the following:

-Cut back the HFC for the time considering it is just me and Mands at the moment. Its seems really extraneous and I'm trying to cut the fat to get the game back on track.

-Consolidate the Brotherhood and unite (pun intended) Magneto and Mystique's factions. Perhaps we can talk of a Brotherhood/Marauders fight to get Blink back. I haven't forgotten about you Cara!

-The X-Men need a break. Genosha was really taxing on them, I'd like to see our characters having some fun and relaxing while they're in down time. So get your characters out there and socializing. This goes for Students and Faculty.

-USE THE JOURNALING SYSTEM. X-MEN AND BROTHERHOOD. Its fun. You'll see. :)

-The Brotherhood could use some group bonding too, I propose a night out for beer and debauchery.

IN GAME ACTIVITY CHART. There are A LOT (read: a lot, a lot, a lot) of incomplete scenes. Yes, a lot of them are mine, granted, but some of them are not. Lets work on getting those finished. I know we've been spamming the OOC a lot which makes it hard to keep track of things. I have thought of this and remedied it. I refer you to the chart. Its there for your use. Use it.

I figured it was about time for this:

Activity check ladies and gents.

I'd like to know who is still here and willing to participate, where your characters are and what kind of ideas you have for them? You never know we might be able to accomodate.

My muses:

Storm - Still at the mansion and I'll be picking up her solo plot soon enough. Shadowking fun ahead.

Shimmer - Apart from the main plot going on, running the shelter and living his life. No plans at this moment in time.

Pyro - Running errands for Magneto mostly. Working towards Magneto's end goal.

Magneto - Looking to place a mutant sympathiser in office and fuck Mystique over if he has to. Lots of plans.

Sage - Still waiting on the Hellfire meeting and liasing for Sebastian Shaw. No current plans.

Kinesis - Settling in and currently in scene with Dazzler, looking to finish that. Want to develop his powers and more interaction.

I'm mainly concerned because there really isn't anything happening outside of myself and a few others and I'd like to see the community more active.

Feedback would be appreciated. I know how sucky RL can be, I've been there myself and I understand how it will always come first (like it should) but I really do want this community to go somewhere instead of crawling along like it is right now. Failing that the moderators might need to have a discussion about the future of the game.

I just wanted to apologise for not being around. Work has been very demanding and tiring lately, what with our sudden recruitment drive and the changes taking place to induction training. Not to mention the various infighting and backstabbing I'm having to deal with from people that are old enough to know better.

Also?

My computer has a virus, one that takes great pleasure in slowing everything down to snail's pace. I'm reformatting this weekend and hopefully *fingers crossed* I'll get everything up and running by the next day but just in case I disappear you know why.

I don't know about you but I feel like the students of the X-Mansion should be communicating more than they are and doing things together as teenagers. I'm suggesting we use the journals as a means for them to communicate about everything and anything. I began it with Noah's journal here and I thought it might be good to encourage interaction like this, for both students and teachers.

I'm a fucking idiot guys. I was working on the taken characters page, cause it got all screwed up sometime..and I inadvertently deleted it in the process. So...if you see that its gone, never fear, I'm working on it. Please forgive the maintenance that's going to occur over the next few days.

I've been quiet due to an asthmatic husband with bronchitis - Remember when I had it, folks? Well, sharing spoons with sick people is bad! And lets just say that those two *really* don't mix well together, so I'm making sure he's okay.

I also had a very bad backlash from another game, where half of the player base (including myself) left. So, since then, the muses have been sleeping and really aren't wanting to come out and play. And for Christ's sake, I have an RP refugee Deadpool stuck in my head now with no outlet -_-

So, as things die down and the shockwave settles, I'll make an appearance again. I still have those want/need scenes to complete. If anyone wants to jump on with something else, go ahead, you know how to reach me when I'm not outside or in the middle of chasing cats around with a spork

Hey guys,

Sorry I've been quiet, I'm sort of drowning in school work at the moment. Things should be calming down within the next few days. I know I've got one thread to finish (sorry Meesha!), and I'll get to that soon, I swear.
