I'm not sure where I am, but I'm pretty sure it's not Ferelden.

Does anyone know how to get back to Denerim from here? I don't think the Darkspawn will just wait for me to return from my vacationing in Wherever-This-Place-Is before going back to destroying everything I know and love.

I'm not even sure how I ended up here to begin with.

I assume you mean in a broader scope than ogling a rather fine bosom. Because that is what I am doing presently. Well. Also, typing.

Great.

Of all the people I could possibly be stranded in a strange world with, I had to be stuck with you.

I should probably just be happy you're not Morrigan.

I am happy to see you too! Don't worry, I will not propose hugging to celebrate. Continue brooding. It is actually a rather curious change from your normal self. Brooders do not giggle.

Would you prefer that I giggle?

It is more like you, but I understand why you do not. You are lonesome, no?

Lonesome? Why do you think that I am lonesome?

... you do not remember swooning over a particular other Grey Warden? I could be mistaken, but I seem to recall you studying her backside as if the Chant was written upon it. You were very reverent.

I-

I did not swoon over her! If I ever swooned, even just near her, it was from the heat of battle!

That is right, I forgot, you are delicate and prone to the whims of the weather.

For the record, saying you swoon over a woman seems far more manly than swooning over the temperature.

Are you saying that I'm not manly?

Do you really want me to answer that?

Yes. In fact, I do.

Are we having a lover's quarrel now? Alistair, if you wanted to bed me, you need only ask.

I'm only interested in women, thank you very much!

And yet the more you say that, the more it seems as if you are only saying so to convince yourself.

However, I jest. You are manly while you are stabbing things, which, luckily enough for you, is frequently. I leave it at that.

Good! I wouldn't want anyone thinking I was some sort of wilting lilyflower. Especially not now.

SO, now that there's no Blight to worry about, no Darkspawn to defeat, and no Grey Warden to owe your life and loyalty to, what are you doing? Besides the obvious, anyway.

Of course you're not. You would be a flower with a much more masculine odor.

Well, I found the local guild, and I am doing work for them. A bit of this, a bit of that. I like to stay busy.

Up to no good, no doubt.

And if there's a way back to Ferelden? If I find a way? Or if the Lady Warden somehow ends up here, then what?

Well, of course, we are not a guild of basketweavers.

You know the answer to that, Alistair. I am no Templar, but I do keep my promises.

A guild of basketweavers? I'd really like to see you join that one. Or maybe a guild of quilters. I could use a warm blanket.

I'm glad. Then. I don't want us breaking up even though we're divided. There's still the Blight and the Darkspawn to be worried about, and we need to be ready for it at any moment.

Why use a blanket when you can try a number of other, more exciting techniques for staying warm?

While I am enjoying my time here, Antiva is my home. I don't want the Blight to further its campaign any more than you do.

Because unlike some of our traveling companions, I have morals.

How long have you been here, anyway? Have you spoken to Wynne?

I take it you are implying that I do not? I assure you that you are incorrect. Mine are just not quite so rigid as yours. I prefer rigidity to be in other parts of my being.

I've been here about a week, perhaps two. I have spoken to her! I quite missed her.

All right, then. Just where do you draw the line?

Were you there, at the final battle? Not you, but you-you. The you you are right now.

It depends on my partner. I assume you are speaking of intimate relations, yes?

As confusing as your last statement was, the last thing I recall was being at camp, trying very hard to ignore you and the other Warden flirting. Badly.
