Right, so I know I just gave everyone a warning about a week ago, but I realize I didn't give the history of the Orphan's Thanksgiving.
Back in the day, when me and Mary were living in Louisiana, we knew quite a few people around who didn't have family around to come for dinner on the holidays, so we had the space at the time, and just invited them to stay with us for the weekend and for the feast, and it just grew from there.
After Mary and me went our separate ways, I just kept on with it, since after that I was the one without anywhere to go, figured I might just make a tradition out of it. And I suspect Mary did the same.
So there you are, invitation's open to anyone, whether or not you've got somewhere else to go [Key West address] Usually start around midday Thursday, goes through Sunday sometime, or whenever the food runs out, whichever one takes longer. Bring whatever you like, sides, drinks, extra dishware, and bring anybody you think needs a good home-cooked meal, doors'll be open. |

My mask finally feels like cooperating with me and staying put, and the boy has finally stopped causing all my instruments to play Vaudeville trash. Thank God.
I feel this will be the last time the boy and I trust anything that Miss Fleck gives us. It may well be part of her revenge for all she says we did.
If that is the case, I shudder to think what she'd do to Mademoiselle Giry and her mother. |

So I'm not sure if I yet understand the purpose of this... Thanksgiving holiday. It's quite curious. Though I suppose I should consider purchasing gifts for the Christmas season. |

I had a slice of pumpkin pie with extra whipped cream and a cup of black coffee. Another day still sober, but it was an act of will today, helped along by the pie.
