Entry tags: | *incomplete, [at] carmel coffee, [with] paola zabini |
CHARACTERS: Paola Zabini & [open] [Some suggestions: the expected company; a chance meeting; a clumsy passer-by; etc.]
SETTING: Carmel Coffee
DATE: 20th March; early afternoon
SUMMARY: Conversation and coffee. Paola hates being made to wait.
It's mid-day, the grey skies broke every so often to allow for a post of sun. The early spring air was brisk, but the tan overcoat wrapped around Paola, along with the cup of coffee craddled in her hands, kept her warm. She'd chosen a table bordering the sidewalk, an excellent place to people watch, although there wasn't much traffic this time of day. It was mostly the elderly crowd, and mothers' with screaming children over due for a nap. Paola ignored them all, taking a sip of her coffee and recrossing her legs, skirt riding up a tad and stockings gliding against each other.
A few pigeons hopped along the walk in search of crumbs, their bodies fat with too many baked treats, and Paola idly wondered if pigeons could be morbidly obese. Current observations seemed to indicate that yes, in fact, they could. She checked her watch and tapped the heel of her shoe against the metal leg, annoyed. She was supposed to be meeting someone and they were late.
