There was a line, really, between mildly late and horrible unacceptable. And that line had been crossed roughly three minutes ago; the fact that Paola was still sitting at the table was a testament to Carmel's coffee--and to the service. Her gaze quickly flickered over the server's body, giving a once over. Yes, the service really was quite excellent. In fact, the woman standing in front of her looked rather familiar. Almost like--
--Oh. Well. That was interesting, and Paola wondered how she hadn't noticed before. She could vaguely remembered Fred mentioning a sister at one point, although what had happened later that particular night had been much more memorable. It wasn't as though they spent a lot of time discussing their families. Still, Paola felt like she should have noticed the obvious family resemblance sooner.
"I'm rather afraid I've been stood up," Paola said, nodding at the empty chair across from her with a polite smile and pointed glare. "I've half the mind to leave, but your offer does sound quite tempting."
