Well what starts out as a warm breeze turns into something more Like the lightning burns down houses Or the wind that blows down doors Oh I see it in the distance It moves much faster than I think Yes this storm will wreak much havoc Bring my sanity to the brink
That day, before the dawn, an emergency meeting had been called by the King, the message had said that it was of the utmost importance. The entire council had been called. Now, some twelve hours later, a soft susurrus of sound could be heard as a short fanfare of trumpets began, and a herald banged his staff on the floor, announcing in a great voice, "The King and Princess Anne doth approach! Silence, for the King and Princess Anne!"
Silence fell instantly and the eyes of the gathered nobles were on the door as moments later the king and his childe entered the presence chamber at last. Henricus fluffed up his doublet collar and brushed his hand through his hair. Then he smiled at Anne and with a tilt of his head gestured for her to go on and settle herself.
The courtiers began to stir uneasily, nudging each other. The nudges were significant, everyone knew that the royal audience that was about to begin was going to be of utmost importance, changes announced and the tone set hard and harsh. Not that one flick of the King’s eyelids, nor one royal gesture, betrayed it. Henricus looked at all the nobles standing there. He didn't trust half of them. And at times, when he found out some of his advisors were plotting against him, or Charles, he would dispose of them, quietly or by staging a public execution, depending on their status and severity of their offense. He looked around the room, then swiftly and silently walked over to the dais with two thrones.
Upon the dais, the Lords of Privy Chamber, the most influential men in the kingdom took their usual place, amongst them Sir Thomas More and the Duke of Wulfolk. He studied each of them then smirked at his husband, "Ah Charles, I expected you'd be here already." Bidding him to take his usual seat by his side.
