Holly Strange was not in a very good place. Hadn't been for most of her life, really. Holly's life was one big barrel of things going wrong, one right after the other. It started when her twin sister Tawny began going to child therapy for violent behavior, and continued when Holly was diagnosed with narcolepsy at the age of twelve. Her brother was a drug addict just like her, their father was never home and when he was, all he did was yell at them and beat on Topher when things went wrong. Usually when Tawny did something, Tawny was always doing things, and now she had the Joker in her head. And Holly's mother had Maleficent. Life had been that much more surreal since her mother's confession at the beginning of the week, when Holly had been practically ordered to leave home and never see her again. Thankfully Oliver had been with her at the time and he took her back to the UK with him, that made it a little better. But that didn't stop Holly from falling into another black hole of depression.
Oliver was gone for the weekend, off on some training thing for Camelot. Holly was only happy when he was around, and when he wasn't? She couldn't fight it, she didn't even try. Who the hell cared anyway? Oliver, sure, but if he knew who she really was he'd probably stop caring just as quick. Topher was busy all the time working, Tawny hated the world, including Holly most of the time. And now her mother was trying to kill her. Her life was shit, and Holly had hit rock bottom. So, she decided to do what she always did when her life spun out of control. She got blitzed. She'd gotten the drugs from Otto the night before and spent a night out partying with strangers. Not really out of the norm for Holly so she really didn't think much of it. It'd been fun, but tonight was different. The come down the next day had been a bitch and a half and Holly was still down when she took something to take her back up again, and it all went down hill from there.
She was in a club, in the middle of the dance floor (thank god for Europe, you didn't have to be twenty-one to get in). Bright, colored lights flashed in her eyes like they were deliberately trying to hurt her and the bass of the music was so strong that Holly could feel it vibrating in her chest, like a second heart beat. She'd taken too much. She knew she had, but at the time she didn't care. She just didn't want to feel this anymore, she didn't want to... feel anything. Her eyes shot wide open as she felt her body start to sag and her head start to swim. Tunnel vision. She was going under. For a split second she actually had the urge to try and fight it, but then it passed. It wanted her? It could take her. Her eyes flew shut as she collapsed within herself and her body hit the floor hard, surrounded by other people's legs and as she drifted off down that dark tunnel she heard someone screaming to call 999.
