The cooking lesson with Lucy had gone well for the most part. While there had been a few hiccups that was to be expected. He hadn’t cooked anything since then and he wasn’t sure if he should but he didn’t want to seem like a failure to anyone, especially his brother. While Hazel hadn’t done any cooking yet he was having an easier time adjusting to this place than Fiver was. Even with the lessons he was taking he was having a hard time with it all, even if it was slightly easier than it had been in the beginning. While some of the people he had met seemed nice and didn’t judge him he knew many people did and he didn’t like that. He just wanted to be normal. Even as a rabbit he hadn’t been normal but he at least had Hazel like he did here. Of course after he convinced Hazel and the others of the attack and escaped Sandlewood Warren he had a few others but even then he was still an outsider. Here, he was starting to make friends besides Hazel - River, Lucy and a few others. Still he just wanted to be normal. When it came to the cooking class he still felt he was behind a lot of people when it came to their cooking ability. Some of them did struggle at times but they were confident with what they had to do, something he didn’t have. He had never been the most confident person, even in his natural form. He was quiet, shy and hesitant something that came from his visions and being ridiculed by the other rabbits. While he had accepted that he just... He didn’t know what he wanted really. He had found what looked like a basic recipe on the google thing that he had been told about and had found useful so far. It was for a stir fry - he had learned how to cut up vegetables with a knife so it shouldn’t be that hard right? At least he hoped so, he wanted to surprise Hazel and show him that he could truly adapt to this place. Even if he himself was having a lot of second questions about that. Fiver was proud of himself, he had managed to go shopping by himself and handle the money though he had trouble at first actually figuring out what some of these vegetables were. He had needed meat for this stir fry but he had decided against it. He would never meat. Having chopped the vegetables - rather roughly but they were done, he hoped it wouldn’t matter that they weren’t ‘finely’ chopped’ like they had said to do in the recipe. He had trouble with that. Hell,he had trouble with a lot of things still. Fiver was slowly following the instructions, constantly double and triple checking it as he went. He was adding the rice wine to the recipe and he wasn’t sure what exactly and happened. Despite a few mishaps when he nearly forgot to add ingredients and a weird smell that was making it hard to breathe. Adding the rice wine or what he thought it was. That was when things stopped going as well. He wasn’t exactly sure what happened but the next thing he knew there was a fire ball around the frying pan. Screaming and yelling in his native rabbit tongue he attempted to put it out. Finally he just got a massive thing of water and threw it over, something he had seen done in the wild by man people. His vegetables were drenched, he was covered in water as well but the smell was gone so he wasn’t sure what had caused it. Deciding to give up, he just threw all the vegetables out and put everything back in the cupboard. Cooking obviously wasn’t for him, or at the very least try again another day. |
