Rachel Grey Summers [Marvel Girl] [userpic]
Danger Room, Morning (OtA)

Rachel was in the Danger Room, training.

Well, she called it training. Anyone else who witnessed it would probably call it randomly beating the crap out of things with heavy amounts of power.

It was bothering her a lot more than she ever thought it would that her father and her uncle were both here and they didn't know who she was. She thought she could handle it. She thought she could deal with them not knowing who she was and dealing with that... but she was having a hard time with it. One of the drawbacks of coming backwards in another reality to protect those you loved from the future you knew.

None of your family knew you.

Wiping tears away with the back of her hand, she once more focused on the program she was running.

She hated Sentinels.

Retribution

Who: The X-Men, abductees, NPC!Guards, NPC!Labcoats, Sentinels
What: rescue mission
When: Friday night
Rating: Gonna make this a strong R
Status: Open
Warnings: Rating is for violence, you know that'll happen in spades. It's going up now but don't feel like you need to tag in right away, while the action will only take place in the space of hours this'll be open all week to make sure everyone can get in and get their shit done.

Any questions? Shoot 'em our way.

((this post is extra-long because I tacked Brenna's torture scene on)

~~~~~
There had been no missions since the school had been rebuilt. It was almost unspoken that the X-Men needed to focus solely on their own after a time when so many of them had been lost inexplicably, and Logan had been loathe to break the status quo. Not really his usual state of being but his actions no longer affected just him.
Rec Room, Evening
After classes and after a session in the Danger Room, Rachel was curled up on the couch flipping through channels on the TV. She wasn't looking for anything in particular, just something to catch her attention so she could get lost in it. She flipped past the sports channel where there was something with bikes going on. She surfed past it and then froze.
No. I did not see that.
Rachel sat up and focused on the TV as she flipped back to the sports channel. She blinked, frowning as she caught the glimpse of a paint job she recognized.
"You two didn't," she whispered. "You couldn't."
The camera panned around the field and did a close up on two competitors. Rachel blanched as she jumped to her feet, recognizing the bike that was trying dodge the attack from the other rider.
"Kitty Pryde are you TRYING to get your ass killed?!"
[[OOC: The rec room is indeed open. Kitty and Tamsin are on TV as the bike derby they are involved in is being televised. *grins* Open for anyone who wants to walk by or who has heard Rachel yelling at the TV. This is indeed a gathering post to see about getting all of the residents interacting in one place. ]]
The Danger Room (Open)
Rachel had found herself needing to let off some steam and some frustration, so she headed out to the levels of the Danger Room that the students were allowed to enter.
The things she had been seeing on the television had her temper near a breaking point and she knew that her losing her temper could be a dangerous thing for all of those around her. (She had taken to heart the things she knew about her mother, after all.)
Making sure that the level was cleared, she pulled up one of the newer programs that Kitty has installed into the computers. When the antagonists appeared, she focused her mind inward for a moment, before she stepped into the programmed setting.
Out back Of The Institute, Afternoon -- OtA
Rachel didn't allow herself to feel boredom much of the time because she feared it would cause a lapse in her control.
Having lost both her mom (again) and the Professor when things went horribly wrong, she found herself constantly on edge -- waiting for a sign that someone else was going to attack them.
She had spent some time visiting old places that she remembered while the Institute was being rebuilt. When she knew it was opening again, it was the most natural thing for her to come back and settle in. She would be taking classes here -- as well as watching out for the place. She thought of herself as a bit of secret security system for the place.
After all, she knew what the future she had come from was like with the Institute gone and most of its denizens dead. She didn't want to see that happen. It was a surprise to her that Logan was the headmaster of the school now, but she decided that it was fitting. Sometimes the leaders of peace were those that knew war the best.
Shaking her head free of those thoughts, Rachel made her way outside. The sun was shining nicely for a change and she wanted to enjoy it as long as she was able to.
