Officially a two year old
Who: Izumi, Noriko, Rand, Rupert, Jayne, Felicity, Odette (NPC), and Noah (NPC)
What: Noah's birthday party
When: Wednesday evening, around six PM
Where: Izumi's house
Warnings: Awkward? And perhaps cuteness as well
Izumi was fluttering about like a hummingbird trying to get everything just perfect. Noah had been playing on the floor, oblivious to why his mother was running around like a crazy person and gurgling about blocks and Dora the explorer. At least he was occupied and that was the important thing right now. "Mama, should we put out plastic silverware or just regular?" she questioned. "Same with plates, paper or regular?" Why were birthday parties so difficult to put together? Perhaps because she waited until the last second to put the whole thing together.
And there was also the little fact that her parents were both going to be there and after figuring out that her father was still in love with her mother, she wasn't sure how to act around either of them really. Her mother especially. She'd been careful not to say a word about Rand the whole afternoon. She didn't want to trap herself into some awkward conversation where her mother would know that she knew something and wheedle it out of her. She loved her, but Noriko was a woman that could get a priest to blab every confession he'd ever been told.
Rupert had given her some extra time off and she couldn't have been more thankful that she had so much time to plan the party out but she really hoped he'd hurry up and arrive and she could at least curl in against him for a brief moment. She was going through far too much and thinking too much to be healthy. Thank god he was a therapist. She lucked out in picking a boyfriend.
"Thank you for helping, Mama." she said before her mother really got the chance to answer her first few questions. "I love you." And she squeezed the woman tight. "I can't believe my baby is growing up. It's not fair." And great, now she wanted to cry.
