There was nothing that Daciana wouldn't do for Neal and Naomi. Her brother's four year old twins were the light of Daci's life, plain and simple. It was always Aunt Daci, why is the sky blue? Aunt Daci, you painted it red there. Aunt Daci, can you paint us? Aunt Daci, can we paint you? That last one had ended up with things getting pretty messy... Today, she'd taken the two nymphs out to the city for a play day. That meant shopping for toys, running around the park, enjoying their day and leaving Daddy to his writing. The new book was midway done and he still had a lot to go with little time to do it in. Getting the twins out of the house so he could focus had been a necessity. What this also meant, was that the twins wanted to see the "fire twucks". Darius had told her all about how the twins loved the fire station. Daci didn't know whether this was the best thing ever or not, but she wasn't going to keep the kids from something they loved. Hopefully the firefighters wouldn't be too busy to say hi. Or there wouldn't be a big thing they had to go to. The walk to the fire station from the park wasn't a very long one, but it was an eventful one with two four year olds on hand. Not just four year olds, but two different breeds of Nymphs who had a whole obsession with what they could do. Daciana had already told them before that they couldn't use their abilities around normal people and, so far, they took that to heart for the most part. There were slip ups every once in awhile, though, but that was to be expected. Toady, however, as they walked to the fire station she did everything she could to make them laugh and enjoy themselves. She knew there was a little bit of paint on their faces and clothes, that there was a little blue paint in her otherwise blonde hair, but she didn't care any other day, so why should today be any different? Answer: it shouldn't be. Of course, Daciana should have expected the twins to know several of the firefighters since they'd been here before. What she was not expecting, however, was for them to immediately start squirming in her grasp and call out the name of one of the firefighters excitedly as he knelt down to put some boots up with his back to them. "Cal!! Cal you're here!" |
