This asylum has changed its focus to keeping fans, new and old, up to date on various sports and their athletes. We welcome articles, pictures, icons, and videos chronicling 'canon' moments and events. Fics are still welcomed at sports_rpf, but keep it to athletes and sports that are considered in professional leagues and not college level.

Thanks to a couple writers / fics being outed on Sons of Sam Horn and Deadspin, some writers are locking down their fic. Whether or not you choose to do this is up to your own discrtion, however-- if you lock your fic in an external journal / writing community, don't link it here. Post a locked entry to [info]theboysofsummer, or a public entry here. Posts that community members can't read unless they friend you will be deleted.

Strengthening your disclaimers is strongly encouraged. The one we use here is pretty solid.

This asylum uses the "Minimize your journal's inclusion in search engine results" option so you don't have to worry about locking things down here if you don't want to.

What is this?
Live Long And Marry is a fandom auction to benefit marriage equality. Bidding begins on July 1, 12:01 AM one minute after midnight Pacific Time, 2008, and closes on July 15, 12:01 AM one minute after midnight Pacific Time, 2008. Please do not bid until bidding opens.

What's the cause?
The auction will raise money for the fight against the California initiative which will legally destroy existing same-sex marriages and ban any further ones. If the initiative passes, it will write discrimination into the state constitution, annull existing marriages, and make Mr. Sulu cry.

How can I help?
