Who: Kylo Ren + OPEN
When: After/During His Radio Call
Where: Forest, Forest Border
What: Arriving to the island--injured, possibly dying
Rating: Medium for rage

Note: I have been vague as all get out about the events leading up to this point, so hopefully this intro isn't too spoilery. Just to be safe, you are warned.

The world had gone hazy for several moments after his conflict previously. Blood loss, anger, a furiously beating heart ailed by pain to even get up. The man had lay there staring up at the sky, the stars and the galaxy, ragged of breath and struggling to get his bearings. He had to get up and get back to the base, the ship, somewhere that wasn't falling apart. Yet in the next moment when he opened his eyes and saw clearly he was not in that same place.

Something was not right.

He must have hit is head and wasn't seeing straight. Hadn't there been snow? The trees and ground looked unmarked as if he had simply been there, as if the fight had never happened. What? Ugh...Kylo Ren pushed himself up and ran a cool hand over his face. He winced in pain at sitting, at moving, but through a deep breath he turned over and managed to get to his knees. A tree was his aid. Then up to his feet he schlepped forward one pace at a time, following whatever light lay ahead of him. It must be the exit of the forest, at least into a clearing. He could be picked up there.

From his pocket he found a device. It felt new and old and he squeezed it before shouting into it for the General to come fetch him. Some woman replied, a woman with a voice he did not recognize--though he supposed of the thousands of members of the Empire he would not know every voice. Yet more than that she said Hux wasn't here. Was he new?

She was going to lose her head for this. He didn't have time for her. Every step he took was another drip-drop of blood tracked in his wake. Kylo Ren slumped...then fell to a knee, chest pressed against a cold tree as his breath shuddered. He was torn up, a mess. Some master he was. He had been bested by a novice. The look on his face said he was none too pleased, a scowl and a sneer, eyes filled with fire yet he also looked sick from the pain.

He couldn't get up.

The farm had been his aim for today's stroll. A horse would be a great help in Edith's and his life. The way to the city center was a long one. But first he had gotten lost and then he had started to worry. The sun had traveled a considerable path.

He had seen movement on the edge of a forest which drew him towards it. Thomas hoped it was no beast that he saw and wandered in the figures direction. "Hello, Good Sir!" A frown appeared on his face as he got closer. The figure did not look like it had simply sat down but, at least, it was a man. "Is everything all right?"

He looked up from the dirt and roots and blood that was staining it. His right hand was reaching around holding his wounded left side where he had been shot by that furry monster and his crossbow. In the least it was someone who could help him. Anyone would do at this point. Kylo Ren was on the struggle bus, sitting right up at the front behind the driver where he could be kept an eye on.

"No," the man said after a deep breath as he tried to climb up to his feet. The hand holding his side extended, the other pressed at the shoulder to the trunk for support. "I need medical attention immediately."

Thomas hurried closer, now spotting the red that wrapped itself around the tree and the man himself. He took the free hand and pulled him up. "I - yes, you do. I -, here, have my west-" He shrugged out of it and handed it over to the man so he could press it to his wound. "I apologise but I am lost myself. I am not the best of guides. The city can be found south of here. I will help you get there." Edith would be worried if he would not make it home by dawn but a man's life was at stake and he knew all to well how it was to be left behind in the woods.

Ugh. Simpleton. Oh, well. At least he would be more help than no help, Kylo Ren supposed. His head hung slightly as he took the vest and pressed it over the black robes torn and dirtied from combat and the blast itself.

"As quickly as we can," wheezed the knight as he found support on Thomas' shoulder. They couldn't waste any time and he was in no mood for trifling conversation. Still...

"There's no city on this planet save the Starkiller," Kylo commented as some fog in his mind cleared. The ground was whole? And the base had been to the North.

"Where am I? What planet is this?" How long had he been unconscious that he had been transported and dropped off on another planet? Wasn't the Starkiller falling apart? The land had been torn asunder even as he fought with that wretched girl. He remembered, now, watching her drift back across a gap fuming with fire. This was not that place....but he had not been unconscious.

Anger built in his chest. Tight and ferocious. His hand clutched to Thomas' shoulder in rage and a pang of pain that reacted to the fury.

Thomas tried to show as much support as possible. The hard grip on his shoulder clearly revealed how much pain the other man had to be in. He was taken aback by the man's questions. Surely this had to be earth. What else could it be? Mars?

"It has to be earth. I cannot imagine it to be anything else," he said as he trudged on. At least, the snow had melted and was gone. The walk that lay ahead of them could have killed them both in the snow.

There was a pause, then a pull back, and furrowed brows over his dark eyes. He looked positively puzzled and after another pause he removed himself from Thomas despite then hanging over with wide-spread feet to hold himself up.

"This can't be the Earth system," he said with a look around. "We weren't anywhere near..." Kylo Ren wheezed and drew himself up to his full, tall height--or tall for he stared his father dead in the eyes after all those years apart.

"Are you with the resistance? Is this a trap?" His gaze was hard, the sort that said he would go to the end of the universe for the truth.

Thomas was taken aback by the man's demeanor. He was left clueless about the accusations. "I assure you, Sir, this is not a trap. I do not even know what the resistance is. I am merely a gentleman trying to help an injured man," he explained. But his body was set on alert, might it be the man's height, which was even taller than his own, or the anger that vibrated off of him. Hidden monsters were far more dangerous than ones out in the open but that did not mean that those were harmless.

Kylo Ren considered this with another glance around, away from Thomas, growling within his throat. He did not trust this man but he needed the help else he would die. If the man wanted to kill him he surely would have taken the opportunity to do so.

So, begrudgingly as it was for his better interests, Kylo Ren extended his leather gloved hand out toward him. He did not apologize but he gave the quiet sort of nod that read he understood Thomas' statement, that he believed him. Maybe the man was truly just some peon on the mysterious planet who didn't know him. Maybe he was a mastermind.

Well, even in this state, the man appeared to have no weapons and as such Kylo Ren was sure he could best him. Hand quaking to find support, the knight took two steps back to Thomas' side.

"What is this city called?" he asked.

Muscles relaxed as they moved on. He did not let his guard down. The man's behaviour was not that of a kind nature. But he did not seem like a momentary threat.

"I do not know. I do not think it has one. You have come to a very strange place I have to admit. My wife and I are still not quite accustomed to it," he explained after steadying him again.

He was not a kind man, no, but he had the potential to be. Somewhere. Way deep inside. That he consistently tried to crush and found always returning to him. Now, however, he was confused and surely anyone arriving randomly to a strange place would have their own guard up.

Given the war he was waging, well, he had due cause. So onward they trudged, Kylo Ren holding his side. He was feeling faint and couldn't bring himself to say anything on it.

"Tell me more of this place," there was a hint in his tone that was a question, but also a demand, a grey area between the two. Kylo Ren wasn't the sort to apologize for his action but he could at least have moments of kindness or compassion, faked as they might be.

It was astonishing how little questions he could actually answer. "I... oh my... I am not quite sure of this place either. People just arrive here." He had received an explanation but it had been so fantastic that it was hard to believe. "The city is quite large even though not many people live there. But every necessity is free. No money is required so you do not need to worry. The hospital will be free of charge as well I am sure." They only needed to find it.

Couldn't answer a simple question, yet Kylo Ren picked up on what he could. He nodded, but it wasn't a happy nod only that of understanding and hearing. His mouth was turned down in a frown, he looked hard ahead, focused on the survival.

"Call for medical backup," the knight said as he reached for his pocket. His bones were quaking with the energy to do so, his blood loss getting to him truly. He didn't have long...

Thomas looked around. How was he to call for medical backup? There was no one here to hear them. The unusual and urgent situation did not allow for Thomas' mind to wander to the strange technology this place held. "I am not sure it is wise to leave you on your own. It might take an hour before I find another soul," he said. And he couldn't be sure to find his way back to the place where he left the stranger.

From his pocket he pulled the communicator and held it out. A finger pushed a button and he said tiredly into the microphone. This guy was of no help. His rage boiled but he was going pale and unable to do much more than breathe.

"Lacey--I require immediately medical assistance..." Deep breath. "-have just exited a forest...." Then he clicked it off and let his arm hang weakly.

Ah! A phone! That was how the stranger had wanted to call for help. Thomas was still puzzled about their use and functions. A forest was not very specific, how was someone to find them? But Thomas was hardly apt to carry the man who by now did not seem to have much strength left. "Uhm, Lacey, hello?" Could she hear him?

Given the expanse of field before them followed by a distant city and the forest behind...forest was as specific as the newly arrived could get! Kylo Ren glanced at the device awaiting for the woman's reply. With a last bit of energy he barked at her.

"Send transport immediately!"

Thomas watched and listened as the man poked the device and spoke. He heard the answer of a woman. The Victorian inventor remembered the first time he had heard someone speak on a telephone. It had truly marveled him. But here it was just a small device with no connection at all that recreated the voice of someone far away. It was astonishing.

He tried to learn from the man's behaviour. Before he spoke, he pressed a button and released it afterwards. It seemed of importance. So he waited until the other man's fingers touched the glass.

"Uhm, he does not sadly. Could you inform me of its whereabouts? Is it close to the bakery? Or the restaurant?"

Kylo Ren listened to the man at his side while contemplating his own life. Honestly, he wasn't sure he could go on or would survive much longer at this rate. They had to go faster, he had to get his adrenaline moving, focus his fury and the force. He wasn't ready to give up.

His mission wasn't over.

He had to keep going.

Releasing Thomas, Kylo Ren grunt as he made a fist and beat at his side. It was painful but he was standing. Again, he did the same thing before turning to Thomas.

"We have to move faster."

The hospital is close to the park with the lake in it. Where are you?, the woman said as the other man played back the message. But there were quite a few parks in the city and he did not know them all well enough to say which one had a lake and which did not.

He gave Kylo a nod. "Can you ask her if it is close to the bakery, the restaurant or the pub?" He knew where those were which did not necessarily mean that he could find them.

The look he gave the man was of death itself, which knocked at his own personal door. Kylo Ren lift the communicator with as much energy as he had left after his beating, cleared his throat, and spoke with a crisp, harsh tone.

"My escort wants to know if the hospital is near a bakery, restaurant, or pub."

"Thank you," Thomas said. It was more a habit, British politeness shining through. He was the one saving the man's life. One glance at the other man told him that there was not much left of it. They do had to hurry. He strode on, helping the other man with as much support as he could provide. They needed help. They needed transport.

A nod in return, perhaps a thanks of his own. Kylo Ren stumbled back to Thomas and held on for his last string of life. On they went. At least while it was cool and the ground hard there was no more snow to trek through. That really would have put an end to the man.

Finally, after what felt like years to the knight, he gruffed, "What's your name?"

They trudged on in silence. "Sir Thomas Sharpe," he replied. "What may I call you?" He helped the man put his arm around his neck to steady him further. The man's blood already coated their clothes. Edith would never be able to wash out the stains.
