Tony got the coffee started and then went into the living room to rearrange a few things so that they could talk comfortably.

"J, you know the drill."

"Captain Rogers and Thor have full access, yes sir."

"Very good." He nodded and finished moving furniture around.

It didn't take long for Clint to get from his apartment up to the penthouse. He stepped off the elevator and looked around. "Need some help with that?" He smirked as he watched Stark move furniture.

"I got it. Just sit down." Tony grunted as he moved the last couch into place. "There. Coffee should be ready shortly."

Clint just nodded and took a seat on one of the couches.

Thor had many questions about this realm in which he had found himself, and it seemed that there were none here with the answers he sought. Those he had spoken to - with the exception of Tony Stark - seemed to be doing nothing to free themselves, some, like Clint Barton, seemed content to be here, kidnapped and in a place not of his choosing.

He, however, had responsibilities. He was king of Asgard, and his brother's punishment and imprisonment was his duty. He needed to return, for the good of his home and his people.

He had never minded helping the people of Midgard, but it was not his place to remain here indefinitely. His presence had already altered irreparably their future and their history, and had upset the balance of that realm. He would be there when their survival required it, but for him to be there constantly was dangerous.

If anyone knew - or could discover - a way for him to return to Asgard, it was Tony Stark. The man was arrogant and infuriating, to be sure, but he was brilliant beyond measure. It was with this hope that he made his way to Stark tower, Mjolnir in hand.

Letting the computer do its strange scans, he stepped inside and called in a loud voice.

"Tony Stark, I have come, and I would speak to you at once."

"That volume is quite unnecessary, sir. I've already notified Mr. Stark of your arrival. He and Agent Barton are waiting in the penthouse." The elevator started to move.

Thor did not particularly like the voice he could not say, although he knew by now that it posed him no danger. He looked at the elevator with trepidation, hesitating a moment. He could simply fly to the top of the tower, and avoid the small steel box, but instead he took a deep breath and stepped onto it.

"Very well," he answered the computer. "Take me to them, then."

"Very well, sir." The elevator doors shut and it started to go up, complete with corny elevator musack.

The music was irritating, to be sure, but for the moment he ignored it, waiting impatiently as the elevator took itself to the right floor. When it did, he stepped out, clutching Mjolnir in his hand, and looking for Stark at once. If this building was any sign, Stark had settled here as well, which did not bode well for his purpose here.

Tony smiled as soon as Thor stepped off the elevator. "Come on in, have a seat. You want some coffee?"

While Thor was, indeed, quite fond of coffee, he was not particularly pleased by how casual Tony seemed with their current predicament.

"I fear I must decline. I am more concerned with finding a way back to Asgard at the moment than I am with refreshment."

Tony nodded. "Of course. I've been working on that, but...not everyone here wants to leave. There are people here who have a better life here than they did back home." Tony sighed. "Take Maryanne. She was hunted where she came from. But, I'll do everything I can to get you back to Asgard." He smiled.

"A better life here?" he asked dubiously, raising an eyebrow. "I should like to choose myself where I should have the best life, not have it chosen for me. I do not like in the least having my agency stolen from me, nor being taken from my duty and my Realm. I am surprised that you are so comfortable here."

"Having my stuff here helps." He shrugged and sat down.

Clint looked at Tony. "And his fiancee." He smirked and Tony nodded.

"Oh absolutely. I wouldn't have AJ if I wasn't here. She's the best thing that's happened to me." He nodded. "But, that doesn't mean I'm not going to help those that want to go home. If I get a way figured out that doesn't involve killing them, I'll send anybody home that wants to go."

Clint ran his fingers through his hair. "I'm starting to think going home would be a better idea."

"Your fiancée?" he asked. "Miss Potts is here?" He had not been told of her presence, but he supposed in this place anything was possible. Only, he spoke of a woman named Ayjay, and he knew no one by that name. "You are needed at home as well, if you are indeed gone," he said firmly, crossing his muscular arms across his chest.

"I cannot look after Midgard alone. I have Asgard and Loki to look after."

Tony sighed. "Pepper is here, yes, but....she's not my fiancee." Tony made a face. "It's a long story. And trust me, the world can function without me. Though there is a theory that there are doubles of us back in our home lands running the show so no one misses us. Or that time here passes much more quickly so what's been six months here for me could only be a few minutes back home." He shrugged. "Lots of different theories."

"I think the time difference is most likely. I mean, having witnessed the existence of alternate universes and all that." Clint nodded.

"I know of different worlds as well, but copies of ourselves is an odd idea indeed. Nonetheless, why should I wish to remain here? There is nothing for me here, except endless worry and despair over what is happening in Asgard."

He cared little for the theories, and much more for the fact that he was far from home at a time he could ill afford to be.

"Which is why Tony is going to help you get home." Clint nodded. He got to his feet. "He really has been working on it. I've seen some of his designs."

Tony nodded. "There's something about the spire in the middle of town that's keeping everybody here. I tried to fly off the island with my armor but that didn't work. It just shut down when I got a certain distance away from the island. But I'm working on something that'll take care of the spire." He smiled.

"The Spire?" He asked, raising an eyebrow. "Surely it can simply be destroyed. Aye, I shall do it myself, with Mjolnir."

"As great as that sounds, Captain Hammer, I don't think it'd be a great idea." He shook his head. Though he was amused at the thought of what the spire would do to Thor.

Clint chuckled. "Tony got turned back to age six the first time he messed with that thing." He shook his head. "Of course I didn't even mess with it and I got turned into a woman."

"Were you at least a hot woman?" Tony asked, completely serious. Clint just rolled his eyes.

"Indeed, but you are both human," he said matter-of-factly. "And while you have your worth to be sure, you are in many ways weak and small. Mjolnir has powers of which you can barely conceive."

He uncrossed his arms as he watched the conversation between the two.

"Hot? And why would he be so? Is a woman being overheated somehow desirable to human men?"

Tony laughed. "Hot is also used to describe attractiveness." He grinned and shook his head. "It's...well....basically I was asking if he was pretty."

"And I think you can shove it, Stark." Clint crossed his arms and sat back down.

"That happened before I got here so I don't know what he looked like." Tony looked at Thor. "But, if you want to try to do something to the spire, go right ahead. I'm certainly not going to try to stop you."

Clint looked at Tony. "And you'll take care of him when it turns him into a puppy or whatever it decides to do this time?" He raised an eyebrow.

Tony smirked. "Of course I will."

"As I do not understand yet the sorcery of this place, and I have no wish to be turned into anything other than what I am, I shall refrain from assaulting the Spire until I know more."

He hesitated.

"But did you say, Tony Stark, that you wished for me to help you power something?"

Tony nodded. "That'd be the best idea, yes." He smiled and then his eyes went wide. "Yes! I have....it's in the lab." He nodded. "Could you maybe go outside there?" He pointed to the balcony. "And I'll bring it up. Try not to damage anything when you do the whole lights show." He headed to the elevator.

Clint sighed and looked at Thor. "Now you've got him all excited."

"I am not as destructive as that," he said with a slight smile. Twirling Mjolnir in his hand, he made his way to the balcony, looking over the city below. Being able to fly, he had no fear whatsoever of heights, and stood for a moment enjoying the view before turning back to Tony inside.

"Tell me when, Stark."

Steve stopped short when the elevator doors opened and Tony was standing in front of him. "Uh, hi." he murmured, glancing past the other man briefly to see Clint in the room behind him and Thor on the balcony beyond him.

He stood awkwardly for a moment, feeling out of place in army fatigues instead of his own clothes or his suit. He was itching for his shield. "Looks like I'm late." he commented, with a shrug, rubbing the back of his neck with one hand.

Tony stopped just short of actually running into Steve, smiling. "Better late than never, Captain. Go have a seat, I'm sure Barton will get you some coffee or something." He nodded, then stepped out of the way so that Steve could get off the elevator.

Steve just nodded and stepped out of the elevator offering a soft "Thanks." as he passed Tony, watching whatever Thor was up to on the balcony as he moved in to the apartment before glancing back to Clint. He nodded to him slightly, "Barton. Good to...see you're alright."

It only took a couple of minutes for Tony to come back into the main living room. He was struggling to carry a rather large box that looked like a giant car battery.

Steve shrugged a bit. "Coffee sounds good, if it's already been brewed." he commented, waiting until Clint was busy until he sat down, sighing and looking at his hands. They all seemed comfortable here and yet again he felt out of place.

He glanced up again when Tony came back, eyebrows furrowing together. "What is that?" he asked, wondering if it had something to do with Thor tanding outside.

"This." Tony said with a grunt. "Is something that I've been working on that I need some help getting to work." He managed to get it out onto the balcony, sighing heavily as he did.

Clint simply got up and went to the kitchen to get the coffee.

"Yes, and call me Tony." He nodded and set the box down with a grunt as far away from the windows as he could.

"Now just....do your thing and charge it up." He gestured with his hands as he spoke.

Steve nodded and stood, moving to the kitchen to jon Clint. He didn't like sitting idle, not anymore.

"I'm guessing if I ask him to explain that to me I wouldn't understand most of what he said?" he asked the archer, leaning against one of the counters with his hands rossed over his chest. He probably should have showered and found new clothes before coming here, he was still dusty and dirty from work, but he'd jumped at the opportunity for any interaction with someone he knew or who might know more about this place.

"When it comes to Stark, it's better not to ask." Clint shook his head as he got a mug out of the cabinet to pour Steve a cup of coffee. "It's something that's either going to work or it's going to blow him up. There doesn't seem to be a middle ground with him."

"That...does seem to be the case." Steve murmured glancing back toward the balcony briefly, though he couldn't see much from where they were. "This all seems so surreal." he sighed a few minutes later, leaning back in to the counter and closing his eyes briefly.
