Who: Eowyn (Laura) and open
Where: Ending at Hospital
What: Eowyn arrives
When: She comes from battle, after slaying Witch-King of Angmar, after succumbing to the Black Breath.
Rating: TBD
Open: Yes
Status: On going (or narrative?)

Eowyn's heart sank as the King breathed his last. Glory and death. Death being the most likely option for them all. She sank down into the blood marred grasses of Pelennor Fields, she let the darkness take her. Having no strength left to fight it.

She succumbed to the horrors that awaited her, as it was not a dreamless sleep. Yet one marred and pitted with her worst nightmares. Burning of Rohan, the death of Aragorn, followed by Eomer, Merry, and the rest of their army. Within her dreams Sauron gained the ring of power, and even though they had won the battle. The war was lost. All was lost.

So in depth was Eowyn drawn into the thralls of darkness, that she did not know the change of the grasses beneath her cheek. The shift of the winds at her back. How day turned to night. All of this went unnoticed. As she was brought to a time and a place that was unfamiliar.

---

Laura was not a stranger to hunting for new arrivals. Especially after dark. As the streak of light cast over the island she changed her course of action. Up, she moved up one building, then the next. Trying for higher ground, with sure foot and claw, she did not fear falling.

Raising her head in the night breeze, she took in the scents of the island. She took in those who were now quite familiar. Searching for the one note that was not. Through the bodies, the emotions, the information she gained from each individual mote, she soon found the one that was new, the one that as fresh from battle.

Laura wasted little time as she lept from the height. Landing in a crouch, she remained there long enough for any bones that cracked to reset themselves and heal. It took mere seconds. She was up and following the delicate trail the breeze had left.

Finding the young woman in the park across from the hospital had been a rather odd coincidence. As her skin burned to the touch. And while she smelled of no illness that she was familiar with, it did not seem as if Eowyn was contagious.

Swiftly she checked for wounds that were life threatening. Only finding the broken arm, she took it upon herself to hoist the fallen woman across her shoulder. Mindful of her broken arm Laura brought her into the hospital. And to the nearest bed.

Drawing open the tablet she had adapted to this place, she sent out word across the network. With hopes that someone would know her. Or that one of the doctors was still awake.

After reading Laura's network post, and House's response to it, John had contacted Laura, and then rushed downstairs. Fortunately, his flat was located right behind the hospital, so he simply had to rush across the little park- they weren't there, so he could only assume that Laura had moved the casualty into the hospital.

He hurried through the front doors of the hospital, finding Laura and the patient within.

"Hello, Laura," he smiled calmly, moving to the patient, feeling for a pulse and checking her airways. "A new arrival, I assume?" he asked. The woman was burning up such a high temperature, it was going to be his priority to get her cooled down.

"Yes. I do not understand why she would be brought here in such condition." It was almost as if the island had a death wish for the young woman. "Is there anything I can do to help?" Laura had considered stripping her down. But thought better of it, thought she should wait.

"Her name may be Eowyn. The others seem to think they know her. That only elf magic can heal this." She flicked through the messages on the tablet, replying to some, leaving others bare. "She is the tall blonde one's sister." Frowning she realized she needed to learn the names. All new names.

Laura found it rather depressing that all the people she'd counted as friends were being replaced by strangers. There were so few that she knew now. So few that she could count on. Shaking herself she drew out of her own selfish reverie.

---

A slow groan rumbled in her throat. As a harsh shiver wracked her body. Softly she murmured from her sleep. "Uncle... Merry. Must find Merry." Another pained groan rumbled in her throat. As a few tears leaked out from beneath her lashes. "No." She whispered. And fell silent.

"I don't know. Maybe it was to give her a chance," he suggested, as he started to unbutton her clothing. It was a possibility that at home she faced certain death, but here she may have a chance at survival. He wasn't sure, though. She looked close to death. "Yeah, can you open some windows, and put the air-conditioning on, the switch is just over there-" he nodded over to it.

At the mention of Elf magic, he looked to her. Shit. "Right- and are there any Elves on the island who are capable of treating her?" he asked as he pulled her clothes from her weak body. John didn't know any of the Elves- he hardly knew how to pronounce their names, and he knew very little of their ways. But he was always willing to learn.

He looked up sharply as she started to still- it was definitely a good sign that she was still coming back to consciousness. They still had a little bit of time.

"Merry? Isn't that the Hobbit?" he asked of Laura, as the patient fell silent again. He left her side for a moment to fill a basin with cold water, and fetching some flannels. One was dipped into the cold water, and then placed gently against the patient's forehead.

Laura moved to do as he asked. Opening the windows and putting on the air. She was unsure why it bothered her that this one human woman seemed so close to fading away. She'd seen many die before. And did not doubt that anything would stop before her life was over.

"Yes, the dark haired one was going to contact them. I do not know names." What else could she do? She felt so helpless in such a situation. Useless. If only her healing factor didn't pertain to only herself. If only she could offer it to someone else.

"I do not know. I believe so." Laura could only shrug. She knew scents. And faces. She didn't know names. It was something she planned on repairing when this human was better.

---

Eowyn flinched at the touch of the cloth to her brow. "So cold..." She murmured. Yet beyond that she gave no indication that she would wake from the depths of her sleep.

"Okay, brilliant," he told her. They would just have to try to bring her temperature down for now, until the Elves got here and could treat the cause, rather than just the symptoms.

"Yes, I know, it's okay, you're okay," he told the patient, not sure if she could hear him or not, but it seemed kinder to try and reassure her.

After soaking and applying a few more flannels across her chest and stomach, he set her up on an IV of sterile water and electrolytes to prevent her dying from dehydration before anyone could arrive to help.

When Faramir had heard that Éowyn arrived, he had been nearly overcome with emotion. And hearing from when she had come had only made him sadder. She would not remember him when she awoke; everything they had shared had been for naught. To her it would be as if they had never met.

But even if she did not recognize him, he would be here. He would be here to watch out for her, for he loved the White Lady of Rohan, even if she did not know his name, and would never love him in return. For would she? With things so changed, would she ever turn her heart in his direction?

Still, such thoughts were selfish, and he pushed them aside as he entered the room and pulled a chair to her bedside, taking her hand.

Eowyn gasped as the other flannels were applied to her skin. "It's burning! The Westfold!" The nightmares caused her to thrash a bit. Until Faramir took her hand.

She settled a great deal at the warmth, and feel. Her fingers tightened around his, only slightly. "So cold." She whispered yet again.

---

Laura was slightly alarmed as the young woman began to thrash. She moved to hold her down if need be. Until Faramir moved into sight. Her brows lifted only slightly when she looked to Doctor Watson.

"If she did not hear your words, Doctor, she knows that he is here." She nodded to the man that joined them. "Who are you, to her? If you do not mind that I ask."

He held her hand firmly, giving her what warmth and strength he could find, willing her to find a way out of her sickness, to find a way back to the world. When the young woman spoke, he looked to her with a profound sadness in his eyes, but smiled nonetheless.

"To her?" he asked softly. "To her I am no one. If she comes from when I think she does, she does not even know my name. But to me - to me, she is my love, my life. My lady."

"I do not doubt she senses that, your love for her. Even in this fitful sleep." With a slight sniff, Laura was able to offer him a small smile. "Her distress seems to have dropped dramatically. As has her depression. It will aid in her recovery, I believe." She did not know for sure, but it didn't seem to hurtful to give him something to hope for.

"If I had not witnessed it myself, the strength of love and the power it holds, I would doubt. But even through the most realistic hallucinations, it can shine through." She remembered her own. The one that gave her so much want. So much longing.

Laura's eyes widened slightly, at the sudden shift of Eowyn's heart beat, the scent... everything. "Get her on her side." She warned, alarm sang through her body as she moved.

---

That was the only warning they got, before Eowyn's body suddenly stiffened, and began to convulse shortly after. Grunts, and gurgling sounds rumbling from her throat. Her arms flailing, as legs kicked.

---

Laura glanced worriedly at Watson. Why had her BP dropped so suddenly? And where were the elves?

Anairë was waiting outside, letting the girl's loved ones have some time when she heard the commotion inside. She rushed in, taking the girl's hand and holding it as she thrashed, letting her do so, for it was dangerous to attempt to hold her down.

When the seizure had calmed, Anarië closed her eyes and put her hand on her forehead, speaking softly in elvish.

The girl was healing, aye, but she was not yet out of the woods. It was a very serious illness.

John had assumed that the man that rushed to her side was one of the Elves that Laura had mentioned, but it didn't take him long to realise that his time to step back from the patient wasn't now. He dashed forward to her side when Laura spoke, helping to turn her on her side-

But then someone else was there, taking her hand, speaking some language that he didn't recognise. He stepped back, letting her do what she had to do, but stayed close enough that he could assist her if he was required.

Eowyn settled down allowing herself to be moved back onto her back. Her body relaxing completely from the fit. Though a slight shutter coursed through her body every few moments.

She reached, unsure what she was reaching for. Or who. It was a feeble weak attempt, likely only noticeable to someone who was paying a good deal of attention. Soft murmurs of incoherent words purred past her lips.

---

If Laura was the sort to pace, or fidget she might do so. Yet she often fought the urge in front of people she did not know. Instead she stood out of the way, like a sentinel, ready, even if she did not seem so.

Her observant gaze shifting from Faramir to Eowyn and back. Would he take her hand, as he had before? If she did not know him, why did she? It was a curious thing.
