The Christmas tree was covered in streamers while the floor sported confetti and other magical fall out. Smells of gunpowder, stale alcohol and a hallucinogenic herb hung heavily in the air. Two prone figures pressed against either other and the sofa.
"Lupin." Severus croaked as he cracked open one eye.
"Right here, Severus." Remus responded cheerily.
"Stop shouting wolf!" Severus groaned and grabbed his head.
"Can I get you a hangover potion, love?"
"Only if you don't move." Severus gritted. "Resolve: no more New Year's Eve parties."
Remus chuckled softly and accioed the potion. "Unless they're orgies."
"If we must."
