Snarry Holidays

Before Lyv went on her trip to Europe I AM NOT JEALOUS! I'M NOT! we were sitting down, trying to figure out what to do with the next round of Snarry Holidays. We both plan to have the fest run again (and much better this year, we actually made a list of things we HAVE to do at the end of the fest in order to make this years so much better) but our biggest sticking point was when to hold it.

As everyone knows, December is a huge months for pretty much all fests of any size, shape and flavor to be posting. 3/4 of my personal flist was solely devoted to fests and I maybe, personally, ended up reading 4 fics that weren't from my fest. It was mildly disheartening, but I, like most others, experienced fic burnout.

Now, the question comes, well why are you sharing that with us? The reason for that is Lyv and I wish to move the posting to an earlier month. As the fest stands right now, we barely finished posting before Snarry Smut Swap started. That's just not on. Not on at all. I like our fest, Lyv loves our fest, and we both loved everyone who participated and enjoyed themselves, but as you can see, two Snarry fests back to back just won't fly.

So guys, here's what we need from you. We need a better month. I do believe when we last talked we said we were going to post from the middle of October to mid-November, but that would conflict with all you lovelies who like to do NaNo. That's what we need though. A new month to spread our fest over.

We posted the last entry for the fest yesterday, and now we'll be giving you about a week to catch up with everything before we post the masterlist. All of the authors and artists involved in the fest worked very hard on their submissions, so please take the time to leave comments on the fic and art that you enjoyed.

We want to thank you all for participating with us in Snarry Holidays - watchers and participants alike. Special thanks go to bewarethesmirk, who helped us out with posting, and to all of our pinch hitters, who made the completion of this fest possible ... we couldn't have done it without all of you! Due to all of your help and hard work, there's been a lot of Snarry love this season ... and that makes the holidays merrier!

We're going to take the day off from posting today to let everyone catch up on any fics you may have missed! With all the fests that started this week, we know there is a sudden overload of fiction to read, but don't forget we still have another week or so of posting left here with many great fics to come!

As we said in our last e-mails to you, if we do not hear from you by midnight EST on the 29th, we'll be forced to drop you from the fest and reassign your gifts. We definitely don't want to do this to anyone, but we really have no choice if we're to arrange for pinch hitters in time. (Speaking of which, please send us an e-mail or leave a comment here if you're interested in being a pinch hitter and have the time to commit to it.)

Just a reminder that sign-ups will close on Tuesday (midnight EST) - so you have about two and a half days left to sign up! We have eight slots remaining - remember, we're capping the fest at 100, so it's closing at either Tuesday at noon EST or 100 participants, whichever comes first. For those of you who have already signed up, you have two and a half days left to modify your request ... feel free to send us an e-mail or leave a comment if you've decided that you're absolutely dying to see a Christmassy Snarry with mistletoe, eggnog and blow-jobs. :D

After Tuesday, we'll be making assignments based on the information that you've given us, and will only change assignments immediately after they've been received, and only in dire circumstances ... so please make sure that your request and the list of things that you're willing or unwilling to write is as accurate as possible.

For those of you who have signed up, or are thinking about it - it would be helpful if you had an IJ account, as we're running the fest on this site. We're not requiring that you sign up for an account here, by any means, but we do suggest it - it will make it much for you to watch the fest, and read and comment on all the wonderful Snarry that we'll be seeing this holiday.
