awesome story - loved the way the plot uncurled, and Harry's internal monologue was wonderful.

I lived two years in North Queensland, and noticed no blunders at all. Well done.
A lovely fic, although I'm sill pressing my lips firmly together & ignoring the way my stomach feels - a response to discovering the location of Neville's missing parts!
I do like the way you've presented Harry - he comes across well. And although the reader doesn't actually spend much time with the conscious aware Snape, he's convincingly presented.
I like the little details - the eight pulls on the dreads for the eight missing years - Snape's insane toxic cocktail... it all adds up to a great story.

An excellent story! Gripping right from the start, with lonely - and self-aware - Harry, and then Neville's truly gruesome splinching!

I loved the idea of Snape and Neville being colleagues, and the legserpent was a wonderful character, so obviously non-human in thought and speech (and, ahem, diet!)

Fantastic! :D

Oh, this was lovely. Two helpings of hurt/comfort -- three if you add in Harry's emotions. And such a unique story idea.

I loved how creative you were with the setting and the characters :) Poor Neville's predicament grossed me out a little, but he got a happy ending too so that's all right. Thanks for the fun read!

YAY! Thank you very much, mystery author! This was a cute and fun read! I adore stories with "little details" (Snape's Dread Pirate Robert's poison theory, his dreadlocks, the seasnake and the legserpent's thoughts, Harry's inner monologue, Harry the disgruntled Auror, and competent but still a bit clumsy!Neville,) where authors actually take the time to explain just why the characters have gone on to do this certain action. The setting, storyline and pacing were wonderfully creative and entertaining, keeping me enthralled the entire time. I nearly had a panic attack over Neville and Snape, and whether or not Harry would be able to help them both in time or not. I loved the romance, sweet and subtle between them, just everything together really, leading up to the happy ending for all of them.

Thank you again!

Oh, how great! I loved the way they became attached to each other almost immediately. The legserpent's frantic babbling when Harry first encountered her was great. Now if only they'd get that seasickness potion taken care of and get on with getting to know each other better...

So much fun. I really loved the originality of this, the unusual location, the H/C, the great characters, and the leg-serpent is pure win! It was neat to read about the Neville's splinching, gruesomeness and all, 'cos I've always wondered exactly how that was supposed to work and canon doesn't have many clues.

Snape as a marine researcher is awesome! I love the legserpent's worried care for him - and how this time, Harry rescues him. So good, so very good! This is a wonderful storyverse and I'm going to happily imagine other adventures for them as Harry quits the Aurors, Severus recovers, the two of them get acquainted -- seasick Harry and all -- and they help the legserpent in her search for a mate! (And oooh - preg-serpent would be so much fun, too!)

I really enjoyed this-so much so I actually felt seasick! I love Severus's leg-serpent, who obviously adores him. I was horrified by Neville's injuries but how awesome it was that he and Severus were sort of together (as in the same place). Harry's rescue of Severus was really well done. Nice sweet ending YAY! Great job.

What an original story! I loved seeing Neville as the intrepid explorer, seasick!Harry, the legserpent was sweet, and the slow realization of the Snarry was perfect.
Action-packed and very fun! Great job. :)

Mmmm - dreadlock!Snape and the legserpent imprinting on him - lovely premise.
Seems to have a balance with Sirius sending Harry tropical birds in canon.
And Harry convincing leggy that he wants to help - just great.
The whole Neville plot as well - I enjoyed this.

Great story. I did laugh when I found out what happened to Neville--he splinched himself trying to get away from Severus's pet. I like how the two of them fall into a relationship at the end.

Neville as secret-keeper was surprising, but made sense.

The real story-stealer was the legserpent. She was so protective of Severus. She was also hilarious. "He left meats behind...He wasn't using them any more. Wasteful." I laughed out loud at this part.

Not a lot of snarry but VERY enjoyable! I liked the longbottom parts! And the "Kill the Snake" had me guessing forever. At first I thought it was a weird reference/password for Nigini. I lOVE legserpent! Overall a very fun fic.

What a diverting, vivid, beautifully detailed story. The leg serpent is an inspired creation - she may have been borrowed, but you breathe life into her. The setting, the aftermath of the cyclone, the sea, the seasickness, Severus's ship, all are described in brisk and brilliant language that summons everything to mind. I love the sensual clarity. I love your wry, self-deprecating, but competent Harry who "imprints" almost instantly on Snape. The scene of his discovery of Snape trapped in the undersea grotto - the moment when the arm floats out and Harry spots the Dark Mark - is quite eerie. The image of the two of them floating naked for hours in the water, Snape utterly helpless and Harry burning with protective determination, has that lovely quality of h/c eroticism that prepares us for their abrupt and intense response to each other, once they're safe.

And these lines made me grin: Harry couldn't even pretend to himself that this had anything to do with his saving people thing. This was a kissing Snape thing.

Neville's plight was rather horrifying, and at first I feared it would overshadow the fic. The single tooth caught in the deck of the ship! But you managed to use a light enough touch, and Harry's scrappy heroics and resourcefulness lured me onward, as well as being in themselves a pleasure to read (considering how maddeningly dense he could be in canon). I thoroughly enjoyed your OCs, including the seasnake, and there were innumerable small bits of local color that made the fic teem with life and intelligence. You clearly put some thought into the various kinds of magic; your descriptions of the gillyweed and of Snape's toxin-saturated body are rather striking, for instance. I've now got the image stuck in my head of Snape with dreadlocks. I just wish there could have been a bit more room for Snape and Harry together. You do a wonderful job of catching the banter between equals here, but there's also that streak of vulnerability in Snape that's hard to pull off convincingly and is irresistible when done well. I wanted to see more.

In short, I enjoyed this fic so much I had to come back and read it again. :)

I finally had a chance to read this... I loved it. Poor Neville, getting splinched like that. I like the possessiveness of the legserpent, and that Neville has interests other than plants. Whistling frogs, indeed!
