Fic: Vanquished
Title: Vanquished
Author: [info]regasssa
Giftee: [info]eriador117
Word Count: 20197
Rating: NC-17
Pairing: Severus Snape/Harry Potter, (Gilderoy Lockhart/Harry Potter), hints of Ron/Hermione, previous Harry/Ginny and implied Greyback/OCs
Warnings: (CHAN, NON-CON, TORTURE, hand jobs, blow jobs, spanking - see Author's Notes), biting, sensory deprivation, consensual D/s, penetration, rimming, desk!sex, hurt/comfort, first time, abuse of furniture and misuse of ink, slight Ginny bashing (I've been unreasonably honest to the stereotype of British teenaged girls), EWE?!.
Disclaimer: All Harry Potter characters herein are the property of J.K. Rowling and Bloomsbury/Scholastic. No copyright infringement is intended.
Summary: As an Auror, it's Harry's job to bring in criminals like Fenrir Greyback. He doesn't let his personal life affect in his work. But when his work becomes uncomfortably involved in his personal life, Harry has to face his own fears before they consume him.
Author's Notes: Important note: this fiction contains R rated, noncon Gilderoy/Harry where Harry is only 12 years old. In regards to Fenrir Greyback, it also strongly implies the torture and murder of children. It is, I hope, delicately covered, but will no doubt squick some readers. Please consider this content before you read.

Oh, this was lovely - well done! The scary warnings frightened me, but I wanted to read it, but I ummed and aahed & dithered... and then I read your notes. They reassured me - and I'm so glad I read. The content is well-covered and treated thoughtfully, the suspense is gripping & the sex hot!

Thank you! I wanted to make sure the warnings were frightening enough that people had to be really sure they wanted to read it before they did. I'm glad it didn't scare you away!

Oh, this was wonderfull So dark and angsty with a happy/hopeful ending, just what I wanted. You treated the themes very well I thought. Thanks so much!

I had a peek through your fic before I started writing and it really inspired me, so I'm glad it came out a way that you enjoyed. Thank you for being an incredible exchange recipient, I thoroughly enjoyed writing for you!

Harry never did call Severus, Master Severus. Oh well, maybe later in their relationship.

Thank you for killing off Fenrir. Ugh! I hate that guy!

I really enjoyed your story!

What an intense gritty story. First kudos for showing us the truly ugly side of being an Auror. With someone like Fenrir on the the loose, very much a murdering pedophile in my mind, I think it quite likely Harry could have his hands full. Great job with the Lockhart thread-the memory triggers, the information locked away-it was his specialty. As for Severus, for some reason I particularly loved when they figured out what Harry's 'dreams' were about but also when he didn't want to go back into the Shrieking Shack. Beautiful the way he helped begin to override Harry's memories of Lockhart with new memories of the two of them together. I admit I was nervous about reading this based on the warnings but you did a great job, never gratuitous. Excellent work.

Is it odd that I loved writing the dark, horrific scenes at the beginning? Thank you so much for your kind comments; Fenrir was always that way in my mind too, and when I saw Eriador's prompt mention Gilderoy, I was sure it was what I wanted to write. Oh, and thank you for noticing the Shrieking Shack moment! I always wanted to end it with a big werewolf scene there, and Harry helping Severus as much as Severus had helped him. Thank you for reading!

A very intense story. I'm very glad Greyback died and that they were able to save Rose. I really like the dynamics between Severus and Harry. Most excellent work!!~Sophia

Wonderfully suspenseful and nicely smutty. The storyline was gripping and I'm glad it ended well. Lockhart was quite the surprising perverted lecher -- it figures! Snape as a dom almost never works for me, but it did here, esp. with the added layers of his displayed vulnerability and fear. Nicely done!

Wasn't he? I was worried about making Lockhart into the bad guy in this, but it turns out he was pretty good at it. Hah. Thank you so much!

Wow. This got kind of horrorshow, as you said it would. But so very well written, not luxuriating in it (whew). And the parts with Lockhart were superb - it was clear what was going on but again, without dwelling on the details.

Dark but good. Great Snape. *takes a shaky breath* Yeah. Intense. Wow.

I had such a hard time with the Lockhart moments, I can't tell you. Writing from Harry's point of view and having him completely clueless, for the most part, about what was happening to him. Bah. Difficult. I'm glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for commenting!

I didn't read the warnings or the notes, and I'm not sorry that I didn't. I might have passed this story by and that would have been my loss.

This is intense. The way that you intertwined Harry's returning memories with his case was so well-done. And that it should be a badly done Obliviate was so totally Lockhart.

Thank you so much! I wrote the notes and warnings so that I would scare people off, because the subject matter was pretty dire, but I'm so glad it didn't scare everyone away, heh. I'm glad that you enjoyed it!

Ah! I think I've gotcha, now, Yule Never Know! *ebil grin*

Gritty, angsty, dangerous, twisted, hot and riveting. My only wish is that the last third was longer, the better to linger over, my dear!

I was very impressed with this fic. I think it was well written and I loved the ending. I've also recced it on my journal. A little of what I said: "I know that in fandom, it is by definition FICTION. And so things that I and most others would never condone or encourage in real life... can become kinks instead. Titillating because they aren't REAL. That said this story is how my conscience says chan should be written... horrible. It feels real, and dark and very scary. You want to strike out and run at the same time. It makes my gut tighten and my mind scream. This is not in any way a 'feel good' fic. But it is a good fic." I hope your giftee loves it as much as I did.

Thank you so much was reading this fic, and I'm thoroughly pleased that you enjoyed it as much as you did. I really wanted to make this story frightening from the offset, to set the scene for the rest of it and make Rose's abduction that much more frightening when it finally happened. Thank you for reccing :D

Very real and very intense. You managed to convey so many emotions in your writing--frustration, cruelty, and urgency just to name a few. While I was shocked that Lockhart had abused Harry, it was perfectly plausible with canon. The way he acted in the book was quite creepy, especially considering how young Harry was at the time.

I'm glad both Harry and Severus were able to let go some of their fears and rescue Rose. Fenrir is a nasty piece of work, so his death was welcome. Most excellent fic.

Lockhart creeped me out sometimes too, and the amount of unrevealed time he spent with Harry in the books made my job here much easier. I did worry about writing him the way I did at times, but I'm glad it came out believable when it was through. I'm very pleased they rescued Rose and killed the bad guy too, but then, I couldn't very well kill her the first time I've ever written her, could I? Haha. Thank you so much for reading and commenting!

I'm so glad I decided to read all the fics in this fest in spite of warnings and even if they might squick me, 'cause otherwise I might have skipped your fic, and would have missed a very intense and well-written story.

Hah. I think that was the point: "I enjoyed reading it, except when I didn't." I think that sums it up very well. Thank you so much! Especially about Lockhart. I can't tell you how nervous they made me.
