CHAMPION INTERVIEW # 30 - Becca Snape!
Original poster: snarrymod
Your Name (lj and/or Penname): aqua_alta aka Becca Snape
Your Team: Team Wartime
1. What made you decide to join the 2007 Snarry Games?
Well, I tried to join the Games last year via the lottery thing but I didn't make it. So I was more than a little thrilled to receive my invitation to take part in this year's Games! I haven't written (or posted) any HP fic in ages and I so wanted to do it again. This is the perfect opportunity, methinks.
2. Which Harry Potter caracter is your favourite to write? To read? (any POV)
The character I'm most interested in is Snape (duh!). However, he's terribly difficult to write - at least for me. My favourite characters to write would be Remus Lupin and Harry Potter because, again: for me - they come easily (or at least more easily than the others). I also enjoy writing Dumbledore at times.
My favourite character to read is a well written 3rd person Snape. And there are some writers out there who write a hell of a Snape!
3. What brought Snarry to your attention? Was it a specific event/fic/picture?
I actually don't remember the first Snarry fic I ever read. I started reading (and writing) Snape/Bill and pretty quickly switched to Snape/Lupin (both reading and writing) and then slowly slipped into Snarry. Maybe scribbulus_ink's Too Wise To Woo Peaceably and/or somniesperus's A Most Disquieting Tea were the first Snarry fics I read - but I honestly don't remember...
4. What is your stance on "Quidditch-toned thighs"?
Since I don't play Quidditch (and thus don't have 'Quidditch-toned thighs') my stance on them is very feeble at best.
5. Your own fanfiction (any fandom, any pairing): What do you think is your most underappreciated work? What do you think is your best work? Would you link them here for us?
As to 'most underappreciated': A story of mine I really like is Remus Rhododaktylos (a Snape/Lupin fic(let) featuring a very sentimental Severus), and there's also Sherbet Lemon (a Snape/Lupin fic I wrote for the Severus Snape Fuh-Q Fest back in the days, answering the challenge: X-over with your favourite movie. The movie I'm working with in this story isn't my favourite but it seemed perfect for that challenge. There's Remus/??? as well and character death if you need those warnings.).
My 'best' fic, at least according to feedback (which I still occasionally receive on this fic), would be Listening, a Snarry fic I also wrote for the Severus Snape Fuh-Q Fest.
6. In your opinion, will Severus Snape turn out to be 'Dumbledore's Man' in Book 7, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows?
I think he will turn out to be his own man in Book Seven. (And if that question was meant to ask "good or bad" - my answer would be: both - as every true double agent who's worth his salt is (supposed to be). I do believe that he killed Dumbledore 'according to (Dumbledore's) plan' in HBP, though. I also believe that his 'loyalties' lie with Dumbledore/the Order more than with Voldemort/the Death Eaters.
7. What do you think of podcasting, the newest fad in fandom? Would you like to hear one of your own stories, or one of your favourites voiced via .mp3?
I've never listened to a podcast in all my life (I'm not a radio person at all). My own stories podcast? Hm, why not? I wouldn't want to be the one reading them, though.
8. What pairing have you never written that you would love to try one day? (Any fandom)
I've had that idea of an Orlando Bloom/Peter O'Toole (Troy RPS, if you're so inclined) story for quite some time now. I've started writing it but I never finished.
9. What's your favourite kink to read?
Light bondage and UST. Easy question. *g*
10. How do you feel about participating in this year's Snarry Games?
Terrific! Whoo-hoo!
Thank you, aqua_alta!
