Watson and Mr Sherlock Holmes save a life, discover the true secret of Professor Moriarty, unravel a time loop or two, encounter a femme fatale, imbibe potions, break into and out of a wizarding mansion, hide in a male brothel, go shopping, track down a magical artefact, almost attend a ritual sacrifice, fail to be Obliviated and totally ignore the International Statute of Wizarding Secrecy of 1692, all in the company of a lank-haired, irascible but secretly besotted schoolmaster, a bemused aristocrat and an increasingly perceptive and enamoured young hero.

I've been waiting for this for so long! Will be reading it tonight, and have saved a half-bottle of Asti to go with it. I'll be back!

So, having the good fortune to have been one of the betas, I can be first with a review.

This is one of those truly astounding, breath-taking fics that steals your mind, your heart and buries deep into the heart of fanfiction; and I love every word of it. There are so many aspects to this story to like, but they disappear as soon as you feel yourself walking into it alongside the characters, touching the same things they touch, and listening open-mouthed as they tell their story. To do that is to possess that wonderful gift that is the story-teller’s art. Integral to this, and enormously difficult to pull each strand into a whole, is swift, fluid crafting of plot, a smooth glide through well chosen words, and the skilful touch of the descriptive.

All told, this a stunning, remarkable achievement and a pleasure to read.

I have been a Holmes fan from way back and was so excited to see this crossover. I think you captured the characters really well and it must have been difficult to keep Watson's voice so well throughout. I really enjoyed this and was a bit surprised but happy to see Draco dragged along as well. This was a lot of fun, thanks.

Wow...just wow. I am a huge fan of Holmes and Watson (read all the books...can't get enough of Jeremy Brett's Holmes) and you captured them spot on for me. How you blended the two worlds just astounds me, frankly.

The adventure was fantastic and your story brilliant! Great job, fellow Snitch!

Brilliant well executed crossover. You really captured the world of Sherlock Holmes and blended it with Harry Potter without diminishing either. I especially love Draco having to confront his prejudices when faced with the gloriously intelligent Holmes.

Bravo! A tour-de-force. A well-written, well-characterized Holmesian pastiche, a wizarding adventure story, an interesting solution to Snape's survival, a love story and a look into wizarding history. And all of it written in pitch-perfect Watsonese.

Quite possibly the best thing, fanfiction or commercial, I have read all year.

This story is all kinds of wonderful. I love how everyone keeps underestimating Harry where in *his* time he is so known as the chosen one. Snape is just the perfect person to have work with Sherlock Holmes... their personalities mesh so well and they are both so brilliant. I loved the deft touch you had at slowly growing the relationships between all of the characters. All of he characters changed and grew and interacted in new and different ways throughout the story and it was so subtle that it was a very realistic and natural progression.

I really enjoyed this! Great story. Would not mind revisiting this world again!

This? is wonderful. You meld the worlds of Harry Potter and Sherlock Holmes seamlessly, create a terrific crowd of OC wizards and witches and Muggles interacting with the characters we know (who seem heart-deep true to themselves in this setting, though both Harry and Draco have grown up very fast from the young men they were an hour before), a worrying fourth Hallow (it wouldn't be a Hallow if it didn't have the capacity to doom civilisation/all life on earth in the wrong hands), and a neat and complex plot which creates, uses and then resolves all manner of contradictions. (Phew. /superlong sentence.)

Watson as narrator: perfect. Snape and Holmes as collaborators: fascinating. Harry and Draco as young, powerful wizards growing up, getting along (with some stumbles on the way which the adults won't tolerate), and learning empathy for each other and for their "natural" enemies as well as allies: delightful. Snape and Harry as people in love and gradually coming to admit it as well as to act on it: endearing. Lack of pr0n: not a problem!: I can use my imagination if I need to; you've given me something I couldn't imagine.

I've spent hours reading this, and enjoyed them thoroughly. I don't doubt I'll be re-reading this story at regular intervals; it's joined my special collection of impressive historical/literary crossover AUs.

I think I love you! Seriously, this story is awesome. I loved how you so seamlessly wove the Harry Potter and Sherlock Holmes universes together. I was so happy when I saw it was Sherlock Holmes crossover as I loved the books.

I like the parallels between Holmes and Snape as well as the parallels between the bad guys in the past and the bad guys in the future. Mortdelavie = Moriarty was very clever. Agrippina made a convincing past version of Bellatrix, and though it took me a minute, I remembered that Prewett was Molly's maiden name (and Mrs. Prewett's son worked for the Ministry as well), so it was nice having her ancestor in the story as well.

The relationship between Harry and Severus was well-written and slowly developed with many bumps along the way - just the way I like it. I also like how they concealed Holmes and Watson from the Wizarding world.

There's so much I liked about this story, and I'm sure there are things that I missed. I've marked this one as a favorite so I can go back and re-read it. Excellent work!

This is definitely one of the best Holmes crossovers I've ever read! I take back everything I was saying about crossovers in this Snarry Games. *g* No, kidding: I make an exception for this one! Your Watson, Holmes, and their age are very well done, the language suitably reminiscent of the era and the inimitable books. Of course there wasn't quite enough Holmes, but then there never is...

OTOH, there was a fabulous amount of quite brilliant master-duelist Snape! YAAYYY This is one of my favorite Snapes, and too rarely seen - the man who has lightning fast reactions, must know nearly every wicked curse ever, and has no hesitation at using them. I love him squaring off with Moriarty.

The blending of characters is awesome! MORTDELAVIE IS OMG SO INSPIRED OMG OMG!!! The Prewetts, Tarquinius and Encantadora, Holmes' irregulars and underworld friends, are all beautifully done and add so much to the rich texture - which in turn, makes it so much more the busy, crowded human world of Holmes. Agrippina is a wonderful villain! She has that sleek, clever, coldly egotistical elegance of a really good Victorian villainess, like Philip Pullman's Mrs. Coulter, or looking back even farther, Mrs. Slighcarp (if memory serves) in Wolves of Willoughby Chase.

Your Draco is simply stunning. Like Snape, I think you bring out aspects of him that are all very much there but usually downplayed or omitted. LOVE his Indiana Jones at the end with the gun, and his efficient "Sorted"! I'd absolutely adore seeing so much more of all this band, including Draco, and OMG YES HOLMES AND SNAPE.

AND THE PLOT! SQUEEEE! WHat a wonderful plotty plot! But thanks to your use of Dr. Watson's POV, very clear even when he - and we - are encountering the unknown. Also, before I fall gratefully into bed smiling happily over this story - the little touches all the way through of things that didn't quite add up, and then became clear later when they turned out to be key elements (like Harry's Accio on Snape in the warehouse), were AWESOME! And the Epilogue - so clever and SO GOOD TO HAVE. So altogether awesome! *looks forward to re-reading many times*

I enjoyed reading this so much. Your Watson voice is brilliant, and I love the subtle way you show Snape and Harry's attraction.

Clever plot-line, great pacing, and lots of interesting characters kept me wanting to read on. The ending was special too, leaving me desperately wanting to know what happened during their second visit.

I am afraid I shall be doing you a terrible disservice with this comment because I got no sleep staying up until 2 to finish reading it!! :D But I have rec'd it on my journal. I hope that is a small comfort for the lack of coherent reply.

This is possibly my favorite fic so far, certainly in the top five. Just stunning-told beautifully by dear Dr. Watson. Harry is wonderful-very much the man he ought to be in fic more often. I adored Draco. And Severus is seriously just brilliant. There were so many little lines you used from canon (the bravest man one for example). The banter between both Harry and Draco and Harry and Severus was spot on. The plot itself was wonderful with so many twists and turns-the trip to Malfoy manner (that Draco knew he must have done it!), several rescues and narrow escapes, the dastardly Moriarty and how they solved the problem with Holmes and Watson in the end, by hiding them. Oh, just everything about this was amazing. I can't wait to have a chance to re-read it. Exquisite work.

This is simply wonderful! It's brilliant - so cleverly plotted and so well-written. I was smiling in pure enjoyment for at least the last half.
You've captured the tone and feel of the Sherlock Holmes originals beautifully - not to the degree that it feels awkward and overdone, but with well-crafted subtlety. It really is utterly marvelous and I love it.
