Perfect story for the genre. I love reading stories with a historical background. The only thing I've read with seidr magic is Guy Gavriel Kay's The Last Light of the Sun (which is brilliant), but this story seems to be equally well-grounded in the traditions. I enjoyed this story very much - well done.

I've never read anything like this. The mythology cited was interesting, and I always appreciate when canon characters and events similar to the canon ones are worked into an historical setting. You must've done a great deal of research for this, and it shows. Lily sacrificing herself for Harry the way she did was my favorite part. Really well done--this created a lot of visuals in my brain. Viking Snarry! I truly enjoyed it!

We've just recently come back from Norway and then I see we have a Viking Snarry, and yeah, you used it in its proper form, a-viking, a verb ;) Lovely.

take care,
Annette

Fascinating, an unusual and mythical setting for a Snarry. I'm glad Harry got to know his mother, and that he and Snape got their happy ending. Excellent fic.

Oh, I'm so glad to see this story! I loved the tale that you wove together, full of Viking lore and HP characters. I like that Severus still fell in love with Lily, even though she rebuffed him. I loved the relationship between Harry and Severus, and the ritual was well-written. Great job, teammate!

I adored this, you clearly have a lot of knowledge and that made it totally believable and interesting. :-) Blushing Harry was utterly beautiful, thinking that Severus wouldn't want him, and losing his mother was heartbreaking. I'm so glad he has Severus! I loved all the littoe details, thank you for this wonderful story! ^_^

Fascinating details of Viking lore, and I'm always a sucker for a good Snarry ritual ;)

The illustrations were a nice touch, too.

Oh, my dear, this was truly well done. :)
You must have done a ton of research for this. *is impressed*
I love all the details you threw in, and how well the canon characters were placed in this new world, even down to Lily's sacrifice.

Great job!

Yay team Cauldron!

Oh, such a lovely use of Viking lore, mythology, religion, and life. You did such a wonderful job of winding them into an AU story and using it to bring Harry and Severus together.

I know very little about any of it but it was engrossing. And I loved priestess Lily.

This was a really interesting take on viking lore, and on the prompts and genre. It had the feel of a folk tale, and captured the details of that culture nicely. The raid was terrifying, and the loss of Lily heartbreaking. I loved Harry's thirst for knowledge, and the evolving relationship between Severus and him. The ritual was a lovely way to bring them together and resolve the story - nice job :)

Brilliant! I'm not normally one for viking-era, but this was bloody brilliant! It almost made me want to find some viking-era novels, or re-read Beowulf in the Old English, or something. The scene where Lily dies was heartbreaking, as was the burial. I loved the relationship between Harry and Severus, especially towards the end. Excellent job!
