ANNOUNCEMENT!
ANNOUNCING THE
2008 SNARRY WINTER AUTHOR GAMES!!
We are pleased to present:
TEAM PHOENIX vs TEAM DRAGON!

Truthfully, the Mod Squad thought long and hard this year about amalgamating the Games, changing our posting dates, and using Specific Genre Teams.
In the end, we decided to keep the Author and Artist Games separate, and use 'generic teams' for the first time ever, now that canon is closed. We think it opens up much wider playing field for the Champions, giving them more options to explore.
To that end, the Mods will be assigning teams, and once done, each Author will have to choose Genres:
1. Romance
2. Angst
3. Alternate Universe
4. Alternate Reality
5. Humour/Crack
6. Horror
7. Hurt/Comfort
8. Canon
9. Postwar
10.Wartime
And then, a list of Prompts! (TBA, the authors will have time to peruse them before making a decision)
We will give the option of choosing either two (2) prompts and one (1) Genre, or one (1) prompt, and two (2) Genres.
As promised last year, we will be having a GENERAL SIGN-UP POST.
This post will be put up on Tuesday, January 15, and will remain up for at least 48 hours. If you need to put your name on in absentia, let the mods know at snarry {dot} mod {AT} gmail {DOT} com.

Team Phoenix
The magnificent Phoenix is a creature veiled in myth, both rare and mysterious. It can lift great weights with ease, and their tears contain powers of healing, including the ability to save people from the verge of death. They are thought to be immortal, born and reborn again, rising from their own ashes, a living embodiment of an eternal flame. While the full extent of their magical abilities is unknown, their feathers are used for wand cores in select wands created by Ollivanders. The phoenix is almost impossible to tame and to gain one as a familiar, it must choose you, a bond which confers their absolute loyalty.

Team Dragon
The majestic Dragon is a creature both terrifying and awe-inspiring. Ancient myths refer to them as the original organic source of fire on earth, harnessing the power of the sun in living form. Their scales, hide and lifeblood are considered to be some of the most extraordinary substances found in the magical world, possessing great powers and protections. The dragon heartstring, a mysterious and highly magical substance, is also used for wand cores in select wands created by Ollivanders. Wild and untamed, despite wizarding attempts to temper them, dragons are among the fiercest creatures to ever roam the earth.
