Oh, WOW. I just love everything about this! The colors are amazing, but it's all the little details that really get to me: the gold coin in Snape's hand, his tattoos, the body hair, the black cat...and of course, Olympia herself on the wall behind them. ;-)

I still adore this :-). The colours, the lighting, the beautiful details... the fabric, *love*. Although. Having said that, I think my favourite part is actually the set of colours you've used in the shadows along Snape's ribs and waist; that blue-purple-yellow-green-red mix is gorgeous, so lush.

There's so much in this picture! The facial axpressions of Harry and Snape, their tarnished bodies. The details like the coin and the painting, Snape's tattoo, the black cat (pet? guardian? McGonnagal?). All in all, it creates an almost uneasy feeling looking at it, as if we see something that we shouldn't. By which I mean: excellent, super picture!!

I love the cat!

Great colours and composition. I love their expressions and how they avert their eyes, the gold on the bed and in Snape's hand. The tension is palpable. Excellent!

Wow, you've really out done yourself with colour on this one! So rich! I'm lovin' the fringe on the lamp, and I'm totally coveting the cat's armchair!

Very cool how they refuse to meet eyes. I'm quite sure there was no kissing going on earlier either.

Lovely work hon!

What an emotional punch. Snape counting his money just blows me away. Also, can I hug you? You've given him a real man's body - no romanticism here. Very powerful.

One of the things I love so much about your art is that you always keep Snape true to form. He's so deliciously ugly and that really just nails it for me.

I am in love with the hair on his body and the tattoo on his arm. Beautiful, beautiful job!

and I love the hint of the Manet piece in the background. ;)

Awesome, awesome work.

YesYesYes. Fabulous. Everything is just fabulous - the colours, the poses of their bodies, the composition, the cat, the picture of Olympia in the background. I truly love you right now. I wish I could vote.

Did I mention I love this?

Oh, wow. This is amazing. I love that they both have similar sad expressions. I love the realism of Snape's body. I love the colors and the curves. I love the cat! I love Snape's cock. And I love that Harry has such a shy pose in contrast to the woman in the painting, which I've always felt is a very proud, "take me or leave me" sort of posture.

Really wonderful.

Have I mentioned just how much I love this drawing? Have I mentioned how I can so tell you took a class where it described Olympia, and the way its drawn so your eyes never drop off the bottom of the picture?

No, well, I'm a little more than infatuated with the fact that everything flows into one another stop gaps in place and all. And that black cat slayed me. Although my favorite bit all together is definitely the sketched Olympia in the background.

gah. I wish I had a better way to tell you how this made me feel, but I only have little fragmented thoughts right now. I hope you'll interpret my meaning in a favorable light.

There's a dream quality to this, and something that feels like an echo to past masters, but at the same time it feels very real and solid to me.

Their eyes, and the fact that they won't/can't/aren't looking at each other, as well as their flawed skin, and the fact that I can't really tell who the prositute is--so very haunting.

If I could vote. Well, 'nuff said.
Well done.

Um, wow. Mixed feelings on this one. The style, colors and tone of this pic are amazing, and I utterly love Snape's tattoo. It puts me in mind of something they'd put on an Azkaban prisoner.

Is that Snape's Dark Mark on his right arm?

Oh V, this is amazing! I love the atmosphere you painted with the colors and... I don't know how to describe things in art terms, but the mood is just perfect, poses and facial expressions and nifty details and all. My heart goes out to both Snape and Harry -- they both look so uneasy, poor boys.

You outdid yourself with their bodies. Really. I love it! So realistic. That's what I like most about your drawings. :D And the colour and the whole story in the drawing, just, whoa, beautiful. :D I especially love the hair. You rock at drawing hair on our two favourite men. :)

I love the harsh, almost bruised tones of their skin. There's such a story in this scene, what with their distance from each other, and that coin. And the painting in the background! Your art always hits on a gut level.

Yeee I think what I love the most is how you colour skin. I find it so inspirational and fascinating, and I always want to try and remember how well you capture that transluceny of white, pale skin. It's lovely and especially striking in this.

Wonderful use of the Olympia theme. The sad and not romanticized reality of sex and money. Subtle tie in of cats to both the painting and the AU wizarding world .

I love how they have such similar expressions that it wasn't until I saw the gold in Severus's hand that I knew who the prostitute was. The highlights and the shapes of their bodies are fabulous. So tactile and weighty!

I really didn't think I'd like this as much as I did.
I mean, Angst and Prostitution? But...
but... it's so moving. Harry's crushed, rumpled look speaks volumes.
But most of all I love your Severus. His body is just right for a man of his age, especially the softness around the belly. The tattoos are intriguing - I'd love to know the story behind the one on his shoulder. Your use of colour is, as always, striking and effective. And the picture you've taken the title from in the background. Really, I love this!

There is something both beautiful and lurid about your use of colour, which fits this post war world (and incidentally one of my favourite AU scenarios) perfectly. Harry's shy posture and Snape's aging body are portrayed with such love. This is angst at its most heartbreaking.

Nicely done.

What a beautiful piece! You are such a great painter...I love all the colors you put into their skin, and Snape's paunchy body in the foreground. The hissing cat on the chair really pops out, with the bright, vertical stripes. Everything about this piece conveys angst, from their expressions, their awkward postures, the hissing cat, and the dark background colors. Fantastic, Cnary!!!

V. v. angsty with Poor Harry looking abashed and timid and Snape looking miserable and hesistant. How do you make these colors so beautiful and bruised? It makes them look much vulnerable.
