Who: Gwen Stacy and Natasha Romanoff
What: Exploring some snow-kemon worlds (get it?!?!)
When: Morning.
Where: Snowpoint City
Rating: Low!
General consensus seemed to be that the Doors were currently opening into worlds that were Pokemon-related. And while Natasha didn't know very much about Pokemon other than what she'd gleaned from having a working understanding of pop culture, she could pick up on enough context clues to know that this was a nice respite, for a lot of people. This was something generally safe, a grand adventure, as Sirius had called it. Natasha generally subscribed to Tony's theory that it was a good idea to go in pairs, take a buddy, and keep eyes open, but she had to admit that so far, group analysis of whatever Pokemon world meant was bearing up. Even the snowy world that Natasha had chosen for herself and Gwen to explore had that faint indefinable air of calm to it, and that was a nice feeling. It was relaxing here; summery back in Starklandia, but here, the snow was falling gently and it made pleasant crunching sounds underfoot as they tramped through it.
Natasha loved the snow, she always had. No real reason for it, and she got as tired of the long, endless-seeming upstate New York winters as everyone else did, but she loved a nice snowfall, and she could appreciate this. Particularly in the context of thinking she may have never gotten to see another one.
And it was nice to share it with Gwen, who'd be staying with her at least through the night and maybe for a day or two after that. Funny, really; Natasha would have thought she'd be tired of the company, especially now that she'd moved so recently out from Carol's house and into her own place. Turned out that while she enjoyed pockets of privacy, though, she enjoyed company more than she thought she had. It was nicer to spend a night with the guys, either individually or together. And now it was nice to have Gwen with her, even for just a limited time. Something about knowing she always had the option for privacy made it an easier thing to forgo, and she smiled at the girl next to her.
She had a soft spot for other spiders, exactly as she'd said, and Gwen was just - such a goddamn good kid. At eighteen, Natasha hadn't been a child in a very long time, but it was the kind of age where she understood for most people, your foot was still a little bit in two worlds and moreso for the life she'd chosen for herself, swinging into heroics. A good kid, who wasn't really a kid, but wasn't really not, and, well. Soft spot. "So - this Pokemon thing, and please remember I'm am elderly person and you're a young whippersnapper. They're kind of...cute?"
