Snarry-a-Thon 2012: CALL FOR PROMPTS
This is where you can suggest prompts for the 2012 edition of Snarry-A-Thon. ETA: Prompting is now CLOSED.

call for prompts
banner by [info]lemondropseven and art by [info]littleblackbow

Don't hold back. All kinds of prompts are welcome - happy prompts, dark prompts, silly prompts, kinky prompts, fluffy prompts, romantic prompts, prompts set in the past, present, or future, prompts from any universe, both unique ideas and beloved cliches....We welcome any flavour of Snarry. Let your fantasies run wild! Submitting prompts doesn't commit you to anything.

Each person may leave up to 3 prompts but no more. And because more concise prompts seem to get claimed more frequently, please try to limit your prompts to no more than two or three sentences.

The mods will stop taking prompts at 1 pm (EST) on Monday, February 20. After we stop taking prompts, a complete list of all prompts will be posted that same day at 9 pm (EST). Comments will be temporarily disabled to give everyone a chance to read over the entire list of prompts and decide which prompt they would like to claim. On Wednesday, February 22, at 1 pm (EST), comments will be enabled on the post and claiming of prompts will begin.

Snarry-a-Thon 2012 - Because true love never lives happily ever after. True love has no ending. ♥♥♥

1) The Amazing Race - Hogwarts Style!

I'd love there to be something like this, perhaps to raise money for St. Mungo's or rebuilding of Hogwarts, whatever. Snape and Harry must be paired, of course ;) And they fall in love over the course of the race and all the exotic locations they visit.

2) "People change in the Maze."

After the events in the graveyard, Harry has a very extensive medical exam from Madam Pomfrey, who discovers Harry is pregnant. Everyone thinks it was Voldemort or one of his Death Eaters, everyone except Snape who'd been at the graveyard that night and knows for a fact that the rape must have happened before Harry got there. Snape helps him come to terms with what happened, as he is the only one who believes the real story. But what was the real story? Who was it?

3)Historical AU

Harry is a young knight on crusade in the Holy Land and Severus is a Saracen leader/general. Harry is captured on the battlefield and taken as the newest addition to Severus' male harem. Being brought up very devout, Harry has no idea such things even existed. At first he angsts over the things Severus does to him, could have a bit of dub-con to start or Stockholm syndrome, where Harry falls in love with his captor. Happy ending preferred, but whatever the Muse wants ;)

1) Harry sneaks a peek at Severus's library.
2) Hogwarts knows Snape did his best to protect the students when the Death Eaters were in charge.
3) Slytherin House after the war needs a strong housemaster.

#1. Harry is attacked by an at large Death Eater and deaged. Severus, exonerated and recovering after the final battle, is asked to care for him. Snarry ensues - happy ending, please.

#2. Harry + crush on his Half-blood Prince + wish magic = Mpreg Luckily, Severus has (deeply) hidden feelings...

#3. After the war, Harry needs help with reaccuring nightmares, unaware that he's also having incredibly erotic dreams as well, starring Severus Snape. When he goes to Snape for help...

1. "Imagine that Voldemort won, we're still alive, I'm a sex-slave for the Death Eaters or some godawful thing like that, and then we discover then that I'm your mate. Something tells me that Voldemort would not find that terribly amusing." Harry's been captured, Snape is a creature of some sort ("real" or newly created) and take it from there.

2. It's hard growing up as the Boy-Who-Lived, even harder to grow up as his son, especially considering the mysterious circumstances of his birth. Throw in having two fathers (Snape and Harry) and a peculiar gift for Divination and anything could happen.

3. Being the Master of Death isn't all that it's cracked up to be, especially when a certain Potions Master refuses to exist in the world of the living or the land of the dead, electing instead to dog Harry's footsteps for eternity. Bonus points for a Death who can out-snark Snape.

1. Severus and Harry, each vowing to start life anew after past missteps, find themselves on the same banana boat cruising through the Panama Canal. Hilarity and/or angst ensues.

2. Post-war. Severus has "died" in the Shrieking Shack. Harry was disappeared. They "meet" in their Animagus forms (be creative) and the rest is history.

3. Harry has squirreled away the not-really-quite-dead Severus to Grimmauld Place where he helps him heal in secret while the wizarding world celebrates the end of Voldemort, recovers and rebuilds itself. Severus' convalescence is long and he gets to know a Harry he never suspected exists.

1)Non-magical AU Harry Potter/Lewis crossover

The Oxford police are baffled by the double homicide of Tom Ridddle and Albus Dumbledore. Their prime suspect is a snarky drama professor named Severus Snape who has all but confessed to the crime, but Lewis senses there is more than meets the eye. The involvement of Lord Potter's son Harry in the mix who insists on sticking his nose in the investigation only complicates matters. Snarry with a bit of Lewis/Hathaway on the side would be spectacular.

2)Non-Magical AU
A bet with his uni buddies finds Harry at an alternative drag club. What he doesn't bargain for is his immediate attraction to the star of said club. Punk or goth Severus who tops from the bottom would be lovely.

3)AR Magical

Severus Snape saves himself and escapes to New York City. It is there he encounters a magical world seemlessly integrated into the muggle. Severus thrives in the diverse and fast paced city but love eludes him. After ten years of searching he has given up hope and then one day he finds Harry Potter literally sitting on his doorstep. Slow build and Harry into being tied up and spanked would be nice.:D

1. It's time for the Minister of Magic to step down, and everybody assumes Harry is going to take over, including Harry. But then Severus challenges him. It's the campaign of the century, and all that adrenaline has to get released somewhere...

2. A former Death Eater's estate is going up for auction. Severus and Harry get into a bidding war over a particular item. What's that item, and why is it so important to each of them? And, more importantly, to just what lengths will one go to ensure he's the one who ends up with it in his possession?

3. Harry never mastered the art of using the Floo, and one day ends up in Snape's fireplace. He hasn't seen the man in years, not since he thought he was killed, but something about the experience compels him to stick around.

1. A revamp of Dorothy Sayers' novel Gaudy Night, in which students at Hogwarts are competing for a prestigious academic prize. Headmaster Snape discovers that someone is threatening the competitors and that "accidents" have been occurring. Enter consulting detective and man-about-town Harry Potter, engaged by the Board of Governors to discover who is stalking the students and why. Bonus points for a Harry and Severus version of Peter and Harriet's declaration scene.

2. Harry and Severus have been together for years, but Harry refuses to consider bonding, even though he clearly adores Severus, and Severus feels the same about Harry. Why? And why is it so important to Severus that the bond take place?

3. In the aftermath of the defeat of Voldemort, the government of the British Wizarding world falls. Severus Snape, as headmaster of Hogwarts, becomes the de facto Minister of Magic. Harry, broke and at loose ends since the war ended, comes to Snape to volunteer his assistance. Snape is more than happy to find him a position. Or two. D/s would be lovely.

Happy, or at least hopeful, endings are the best!

1. In 8th year, after defeating Voldemort, Harry decided that maybe he should buckle down and really learn Potions. Minerva coaxes/blackmails a despondent, not-healing-well Severus to be Harry's tutor. Chaos ensues.

2. AU, based on "Roman Holiday" -- poor-little-rich-boy Harry Potter escapes his keepers for the day and is spotted by Severus Snape, who offers to be his tour guide for the day. Professions and city of your choice.

3. Instead of being hailed as heroes after the defeat of Voldemort, Harry and Severus (who survived Nagini's bite) are treated as big a threat as Voldemort. Several / all of Harry's friends get the same treatment. In deciding to fight back or leave Britain, they learn a lot about each other.

1. Snape hated Teddy weekends and tended to make himself scarce whenever he could. Once every month, Andromeda would drop the noisy brat off Saturday around noon and pick him up Sunday evening, plunging Potter into tedious domesticity. From the way the obnoxious six year old hid between Potter's legs every time he came out of his lab, he'd always assumed the feeling was mutual.

2. For all that people seemed entranced by the composure of their interactions whenever they were thrown together by these events, Snape always held that an older Potter was not necessarily a better Potter. Certainly not any easier to bear.

3. Harry couldn't help but feel a little bit gleeful at the prospect of being Snape's boss.

Prompt #1: Heroes are supposed to be handsome, right? So when the Boy Who Lived appears to be an ugly boy, how is Harry's life changed? Does it take ugly people to recognize the worth of other ugly people?

Prompt #2: If somebody had told Severus he would finally get together with Harry because of Petunia, he would have called them the ultimate dunderhead.

Prompt #3: Little Harry has a friend his own age who calls himself Prince Severus he only sees at night. Despite his misery with living in a cupboard, he knows that like in every fairy tale, someday his Prince will come for him.

1. Much Ado About Nothing snarry with Severus as Beatrice and Harry as Benedick.

2. Harry is enchanted so that he can only see people's inner beauty and not their outer looks. Then he sees Snape.... (This idea is from a movie "Shallow Hal".)

3. This is more like my wish then a prompt, but now is my chance to put it out there, so here it is. I always wanted to read an angsty story that ends very happily, in which Harry cheated on Severus, and Severus, who took years before he could really learn to trust Harry, is completely devastated and leaves Harry. Harry then needs to win his trust back, but it requires very long time and a lot of effort, probably sacrifice too and all kinds of things - there can be absolutely no easy forgiving! I want to cry buckets for both of their broken hearts as I read this, but be ridiculously happy with the resolution and with the ending. Like I said, this is me really making a wish... :-)

Because I can't get enough of this theme:

Harry is terribly attracted to intelligence... Snape's intelligence at that. Snape is attracted to Harry, however he doesn't believe that Harry possesses any type of smarts that would keep him interested in the long run, and so he constantly avoids and/or belittles Harry. But Harry's smarts are centered/focused on something completely outside of Snape's experience. And Snape is surprised when he discovers this.

More than 10 years after the war, someone's making a movie of The Great War, and is hiring as many of the actual participants that they can for cameos and sometimes more. Harry winds up cast to play Snape, who sees the preview shots and storms onto the set to demand an end to this travesty.

In order to find out if Voldemort is reaching Harry, Snape takes a potion that lets him share Harry's dreams.(He could find erotic dreams, or find himself as the hated taskmaster and decide to correct Harry's misunderstandings of him, or wind up trapped in Harry's dreams somehow.)

While Snape's recovering from Nagini's bite, a distant cousin dies--leaving Snape as the last heir to the Prince line. He needs to take a mate from a longstanding wizarding line--Malfoy, Potter, Weasley, Longbottom, or Black--within a year, or Dire Things will occur. (Possibly, he'll be driven to mate with whichever of them is closest when a year is up.)

Snape survives Nagini's bite by triggering his own transformation into vampirism. Harry finds out, and offers to be his donor.

Albus Severus is the reincarnation of Severus Snape; Harry discovers a very problematic crush on his own son.

On their first wedding anniversary, Ginny gets Harry a magic candle that grants "your greatest desire" when it's blown out. She's thinking she'll get pregnant; is not happy when Severus appears in the middle of the cake.

During the hiding-in-the-woods time, Harry has found a way to secretly sneak into Hogwarts to steal supplies. He gets caught by Snape, who demands sexual favors in exchange for his silence.

Gay marriage is legal for wizards! Unfortunately, with typical Ministry of Magic incompetence, it's also *mandatory*... all gay wizards and witches over the age of 18 have two years to get married or be stripped of magic. Harry dithers until Snape's the only gay wizard left.

Snape's ghost haunts the Shrieking Shack. He convinces Harry to brew a potion that will let a ghost inhabit the body of someone living so he can get out and do things. (Potentially, cue botched potion-brewing with results of author's choice.)

Professor Snape has a scrying-glass that lets him look at anyone at Hogwarts who is masturbating; he uses it to inspire his own wank sessions. He realizes he's never seen Harry in it, and gets obsessive about trying to catch Harry at the right time.

Post-war, Harry runs way to America to become a survivalist: guns, bunkers, planning for the end of the world. After the Ministry tries sending several people to bring him back (and they all get pounded and nearly killed), they send Snape.

Harry works as an undercover Auror investigating magical crimes; a series of gruesome murders has him looking for a suspect who apparently looks just like Severus Snape. Since he knows Snape is dead, this must be an imposter. Harry vows to clear Snape's name of yet another set of false accusations.

Snape shows up a few years after the war, a bit damaged but very healthy. Harry tries to find out how he survived; every time he asks, Snape tells him something different & plausible (bezoar/rescued by house elves/draught of living death/immunity to Nagini's venom etc.), and it takes Harry a while to figure out why each answer isn't true.

Professor Snape keeps assigning Harry detentions, but since they're no worse than the work he has to do for the Dursleys, he spends most of his time whistling happily to himself. Snape is determined to find a punishment that *works* on the brat.

A malfunctioning protection charm placed over Hogwarts causes people's clothing to disappear at random. Harry & Snape discover each others' true feelings, or at least, their true physical reactions to each other.

Eileen Snape (or some other member of Snape’s family) is alive and she doesn’t approve of Harry. Unfortunately for him, in the Wizarding World the family has to approve the suitor for the eldest son before they can pursue a courtship. How much will Harry be willing to do to win her approval?

1. Hermione Granger has always found Severus Snape to be incredibly sexy. Now that she's the Arithmacy Professor at Hogwarts, and Ron has run off with Draco Malfoy, she's finally free to seduce the Potions Master and current Headmaster into her bed. Unfortunately, little does she know, her competition is none other than the Defense against the Dark Arts Professor, Harry Potter. (Obviously, Harry wins in the end.........)

[Alternatively, it would be just as awesome to see (Quidditch Star) Ginny Weasley competing with Harry for Severus's affections. xD)

2. Once, deep in the throws of love and passion, Harry and Severus committed themselves to each other and got married. Three years later, amongst misunderstandings, miscommunication, and none too little sabotage, they part ways and divorce. Moving far far away and disguising himself, Severus ends all contact with Harry, while Harry mopes around, both denying the longing they feel for each other. At some point, sick of having to explain himself to everyone in his life, Harry moves away and hides behind glamour and a false identity. Little does he know that the absolutely gorgeous, intelligent, attractive, next door neighbor he's just gained, whom he is seriously considering pursuing, is none other than his ex-husband.

1. Snape survived Nagini and the Trio become his protectors while he's still very ill. They take him to Grimmauld Place to recover. Turn the cliche on its head - Snape makes friends with Hermione (who is his intellectual equal) and Ron (they both love Wizards' chess and are evenly matched) and Harry gets to understand Snape better by watching him interact with his best friends.
2. Snape survived Nagini but the Wizarding World wants him killed/imprisoned/tried for Dumbledore's murder. All except the Weasleys, who, much to his alarm, adopt him while he is recovering. Ginny & Harry broke up amicably so Harry is still an honourary Weasley as well.
3. Snape, Harry and Teddy, the toddler Metamorphmagus and chaos-inducer, meet by accident after the war. Teddy isn't fooled by Glamours and imitates the real Snape under the disguise.
