practicing expressions
I did the second exercise from the last prompts, and picked two of these seven emotions to draw: confident, uncertain, frustrated, hurt (emotionally), flirtatious, mischievous, and tired. So, can you guess which ones I picked?

Concrit is very welcome. Personally, I rather like how the first one turned out, the second not so much (one of the eyes looks really weird), but I decided to post rather than to fret too long.

Mischievous and emotionally hurt (or flirtateous and uncertain).

Yay, thanks for the feedback. The emotions I was trying to capture were flirtatious and uncertain. (highlight to see, I just don't want to ruin the guessing part for others)

I'm very excited about slothsdraw! I haven't drawn anything yet.

I'm thinking mischevious and hurt. I think the noses are especially nice.

Thanks for the feedback. And for joining the community! I hope the prompts for practicing I picked are somewhat like what you imagined for such a community, it's the first time I'm trying to compile stuff like this (and the first time I created a community too, so I'm a bit insecure *g*). And there's no deadlines after all, though I look forward to your sketches, I just thought the best way to attract potential members and to raise interest in the comm would be to have some content up, that shows how the community is intended to work.

I'm glad to hear you like the noses. Noses can be so hard sometimes. I don't do too badly with smallish or flatter noses, but I find hooked ones really hard unless it's completely in profile. Like say when I try to draw Snape, to have something jut out like that is just trouble, because you need *perspective* somehow for that kind of nose (or do it like Picasso and draw the eyes from the front and the nose from the side...)

And with the faces here I was trying for uncertain and flirtatious (highlight to see which emotions, I just don't want to ruin the guessing for others)

I think the prompts are great. And I really like the references you linked to.

I need to set up a special drawing time for myself, because right now it's all on a "when I can fit it in" basis, and that's no way to build a habit! So far I've only done one session, and right now, rather than doing another one, what am I doing instead? I'm commenting.

;)

hmm...mischievious and flirtatious are very similar faces. I would guess mischievious, due to the fact that the subject is not looking at US, and also is looking slightly to the side.

The second one looks uncertain, but more like...I'm uncertain if this bear is going to eat me or not! :D The eyes are quite wide, to me, denoting fear.

Lovely work, though!

Thanks, I'm glad you liked them, and the emotios I was going for were flirtatious and uncertain, and I did interpret "uncertain" as in anxiety and feeling nervous, not just as in undecided.
