Week #4, Exercise #5: Spotting Blacks
Ok. I'm setting aside my neuroses, and giving one of the prompts a try. I had a lot of fun doing this. I thought I understood the whole negative spaces thing, but it's odd just how awkward it is until you try it.

Concrit not necessary.

Yes! I like the gargoyles, but you really nailed that negative space thing with the church front. It's almost like you drew way more lines than you actually did, because my brain filled in the rest, with the little that you did draw. Excellent work!

Wow, thanks! That's really kinda the point on this type of thing, but it's amazing you think I managed it even in this practice piece. I've seen finished works in this type of style that can really blow your mind. I'd like to maybe try it for real some time.

I think the church looks better because for some reason, gothic architecture really lends itself well to this sort of treatment.
