Introtiems! Oh, and Specialis plot with Doc Holden [20 Aug 2010 · 11:51pm
]

playadvocate
Hey, it's Lyssa here with a rather belated intro (since I just posted her first narrative) for my second character. This is Indira who is a Humanus Normalis who has lived in Serenus all her life. She is an overachieving lawyer with some Daddy Issues who got overlooked for a spot in the District Attorney's office a few months back and instead wound up working in a law firm in North Sector somewhere. She is scheming and pushy and generally a biyatch who rarely (if ever) displays emotion.

More importantly, she is representing Colin Harper1 who is the man who killed Arthur on the train platform in front of a crowd of people. The trial is approaching and the government is looking for a swift conviction to show that such hate crimes will not be tolerated. Indira has taken the rather unlikely course of representing a man who is a million percent guilty - so we'll see how she argues her case. Which should prove much more interesting once it comes out that the woman he killed isn't quite so dead anymore.

Indira's anti-Specialis views are something she doesn't hide so if anyone cares to call her on it, that would be interesting. She's not going to be social like Kelly, but if you want to have some interactions along those lines, feel free to hit me up. She's already told her receptionist to be on alert for retaliatory messages and all their mail goes through security screenings. More info is found in her journal.

Oh! Yes, I'm hijacking my own intro post. My other character, [info]kellyholden, is a doctor. She's about to be opening a Free Clinic in South Sector that caters to Specialis Gens. The clinic is going to be as "old fashioned" as possible which means it has a standard door with physical locks instead of the biometric scans. So this may ultimately be of interest to any of you Resistance types who will need Sekrit Halp down the line. It will take a few days for the clinic itself to be open but she'll be leaving a message on here when it happens - I just wanted to give everyone a heads up. If anyone wants to talk shop about any of this, I'm on AIM at LyssaChan.

1 Yes, I am a dork and I work at a bookstore so the idea of her client being Harper, Colin amused me.

I'm in the process of apping this girl (pb: summer glau) and I can't make up my mind as to what she's going to be: a nueroscientist funded by the military to figure out useful things to do with the brain (her experiments would be a little more fleshed out, but that's all I've got so far). Or a pilot/flight instructor for the military.

Either way she'll have been groomed for her career, and not much else. She has little social graces, and never considers the feelings of others unless she's forced to. She is easily aggitated, and her bark is to be feared as much as any bite.

I looked through the wanted posts and I didn't see anything she fit specifically, but I'd be willing to change her up if someone had a line they really wanted filled.

Hello!

My name is Christine. I know there is another Christine here (see right below this post). So I guess you can give me a nickname as long as it isn't #2. I may know some of you. In fact I know I do! So hurray!

and I know...blech. A GIRL character. ICKY GIRLS! I wanted to RP a saltine cracker that had special powers but the mods were totally against my ideas in fear that my cracker would blow your minds and take your souls on a spirit journey...and be extra tasty in your chicken noodle soup.

I've submitted this App for Cosette Bronk; "daughter" of Julienne Bronk (Uncle Daddy), Cousin to Chrissy Bronk (Christoph to his face), and niece to Alexandra (Stubs or Stubsy). I am excited about plotting and scheming with her family. But, I am also incredibly excited to grab some plotlines with other military, government and special gen.

Cosette George Bronk or Tangle (as is her callsign) is a complicated sort. Manipulative to the extreme-she is that way for a plethora of reasons; her up-bringing, her nature, her career, the stakes involved. She can be pretty fun but she is also duplicitous, wayward, calculating and dark. She loves parakeets but they keep dying...She loves tiny packets of condiments if they even exist anymore.

I guess she regards life as one great big experiment with some sort of special dipping sauce on the side.

So! although my application is pending and I may not be accepted - I hope you'll take a chance anyway, come together with me in a huge tangle...a great big ol' rats nest of inspiration.

nolaad
Hey there everyone! I'm Christine and I just apped the lovely Nola Delemont, who in reality is probably not always that lovely due to her attitude. Her call sign is Checkmate and she is one of the resident Specialis Gens, with the pretty kick ass power of psionic blast. To be more specific, the ability to overload another's mind causing pain, memory loss and/or lack of consciousness. So I figured I'd toss her out there for some lines while she's pending.

To go more into detail, she's an orphan from New Orleans, Louisiana who has been playing the cello since she was in middle school (her true love on this earth) but has tinkered with other random instruments and writing scores for much longer. Since she was abandoned by her parents before she even had the chance to know them, Nola is very defensive emotionally and tends to keep a distance. This can come off as arrogance and when ticked off, isn't always the kindest of folks. That's not to say she can't be nice at all, since when she does happen to make friends she is actually pretty fun. Life has simply conditioned her to be so independent. The fact that she's suddenly appeared 100 years in the future is certainly confusing, but there's a part of her that sees this as an opportunity for a new life and experiences. After all, maybe she'd have more of a chance getting noticed here - that way she wouldn't have to juggle bartender and being a cellist. Really, the bartending takes up far more time.

Other tidbits include her love for Jolly Ranchers, especially when she's jonesing for a cigarette and whiskey sours, specifically with Johnny Walker. Unless you future folks have some newfangled whiskey brands. There's more details in her bio here.

So hit me up for any line ideas - past, present, future… I'm excited to get plotting with you guys!

Hey there, everyone, I'm Mike and I bring you this charming young fella here, Steven. On me, I've been gaming for a long time across most genres or ideas, so I've quite a bit of experience. Plus I'm open to most plots and ideas and such. As for Stevie here, though...

Steven is one of the Specialis Gens, and he got the nifty power of X-Ray vision in his skip through time. Back in his time, he worked for a black book unit within the CIA ominiously named 'The Agency', or so they think at any rate. Kept them off the books and under the CIA auspices. He's done all sorts of bad things in the name of Freedom and Liberity and all that fun stuff. If anyone was involved in covert ops from that time, let me know and we can figure out if we bumped heads in some form.

As for Stevie himself, he generally comes off as a sarcastic, smart ass who takes nothing in life seriously. A womanizer, jokster, prankster, whatever you like to call it, that's him. That is the face he prefers to show everyone else, and he keeps everyone at arms reach. Especially now, as right at this instance, he's not quite sure if he's really in the future, or under some mastermind's deviously subtle mind manipulation to break him and spill his secrets.

I'm all up for any connections, past and present, so hit me up. I don't bite... often.

It's Kelly again... with my second character, Reed Jensen. His callsign is "Rube" after Rube Goldberg.

For those who don't know who Rube Goldberg is, I refer you to examples like the game "mouse trap" and the complicated machine used in "The Goonies" that opens the door when Chuck does the truffle shuffle. Goldberg was a cartoonist and engineer who drew complicated/quirky contraptions used to complete simple tasks. There's even a huge engineering contest named in his honor.

Anyway, back to Reed. He's an engineer and a bit of a geek. He's trapped in his head a lot. Problem solving is his passion, and he can sometimes forget about real life as he works on his scientific riddles.

As I mentioned before, I'm interested in having players take on the roles of his parents. Their names can be changed to suit your needs, and I haven't assigned them jobs or said much about their personalities. The main thing to know is that Reed and his dad are descendants of Venessa [info]venes. I would also be up for Reed having a sibling or two, so let me know if that's someone you'd like playing.

Family members wanted! [06 Aug 2010 · 11:52am

hawkeye_maks
Hey ya'll. I'll soon be bringing a new boy to the party. His name is Reed ([info]_rube_), and he's one of the normal human peeps, though he happens to be related (distantly) to Venessa ([info]venes). Anyway, what I was wondering.. is would anyone be interested in creating family charas for him? I put names of his parents in his bio, but those could be changed, and I never say anything about what his parents do for a living or what kind of people they are (though he's a pretty nice guy, so I doubt his parents sucked at raising him), and I'd even be willing for him to have a sibling or two. Let me know if you're interested! It would be good to establish such things before he starts playing.

If no one bites, I might post it in the wanted chara section after he's accepted into the game, but I thought it would be good to put it out there now for those of you already playing.

ANOTHER OOC NOTE!

This one of a happier nature... I'm interested in making a new chara (shaped like the smexy Chris Evans), and I'm wondering if anyone has any plots that need filling? I'm not sure what kind of guy he'll be just yet, so I'm open to custom designing him for your plot needs.

Let me know!

iesada
Hey everyone! I'm Relli and I am currently in the process of writing this girl up. So far I only have the basics and a few facts. Hopefully I'll have her finished by tomorrow and getting her some lines can help big time!

This is Nishi Iesada (callsign Sapphire), a 20 year old specialis gen who's going to be omnipresent. You know, she'll basically be able to have a solid body in more than one place at the same time. She was born to a dancer (her mother) and a doctor (her father) but she never knew her father because he left the day that she was born. Her mother basically raised her herself until she got remarried and never allowed her to contact her birth father. Nishi had a half-sister from her mother and step-dad and a half-brother she met when she was 19 that searched for her after finding out about her existence- both of which she got close to in a short amount of time.

Both her half-sister and half-brother disappeared on her 20th birthday, making that day a triple punch in the face for her. She absolutely hates her birthday and refuses to celebrate it. She's obsessed with museums, history, archaeology and anything dealing with water- thus her internship at the Serenus Aquarium and her History major at the university before she disappeared.

Her personality kind of goes hand in hand with her future power. Nishi is always very busy, busy meaning that she loads herself down with little free time to do much more than sleep and breathe. She spreads herself very thin unless her friends can get her to remember what having a life is. Whenever she finds herself in a situation she doesn't like, she won't keep her mouth shut about it and will more often than not wish that she could be somewhere else completely. Nishi isn't afraid to speak her mind and, even though she tries to be polite about most things, she can't always keep herself from telling someone off- if they deserve it. She keeps to herself a lot, stays very closed off emotionally because she's afraid of losing the people she gets close to. Most people who know her- including her mother- only know the outer Nishi, the parts she allows to be seen. It's easy to tell she's hiding, however. The few who she has let in can count on her being extremely loyal and attentive, especially if something's wrong.

This is horrible but it's all I have so far! I'm trying to my best to flesh her out ASAP. I could use anything and everything you can think of and I do love brainstorming and development!

whiplashed
Hello everyone.(: I’m Sally and I just app'd this girl here, and while I have yet another character underway, I thought it would be a good idea to get some lines for her. Also, I suck at intro-typed posts, so bear with me.

Her name is Megan Lily Hunter, 24 years old and a specialis gen. Her future power is X-Ray vision. Yup, be jealous boys as she can see anyone's underwear if she wanted to.

She was conceived by two drunken teenagers, never in love, and was never together. She’s just about the opposite of her mother’s upbringing; spontaneous, has practically no verbal filter, and was pretty much a normal student which really did anger her because she wanted her daughter to strive to be on top. Her father was a hippie – pretty chill, but too chill as he was more of a buddy than a parent. She had a step father who she had a nice, though fairly awkward relationship with, and two step siblings who she was very close with.

As mentioned before, she has quite the mouth – suffers from word vomit, really, and tends to hurt others unintentionally. She really does feel shitty afterwards, so it’s not like she doesn’t particularly care. She also has a certain disregard for rules and loves to live in the moment rather than worry about the future. A bit lazy, but she does work hard and does do a good job when she sets her mind to it. Um… let’s see, she’s fluent in French (only because her teacher was such a hunk and she wanted to impress him), can play a variety of instruments, and has a lizard and a cat.

This was lame, IK, but no worries because everything you really need to know it in her journal. Lines would be lovely. She'd really like a job... or any sort of distraction really. Just throwing that out there.

And because I have no self control, I have a normal, Bradley James!face in the progress. All I really know now is that he’s quite silly, he’s a high school Global History teacher, and… that’s pretty much it. Before I flesh him out even more, if anyone needs anything filled, feel free to throw them at me!

hydrakinetic
Hello, guys! My name is Dani, I'm 21, PST and I bring here Blythe Lafleur, callsign 'Hydra', a 19-year-old Specalis Gen character with the ability of hydrokinesis (which, evidently, is where I got her callsign from.) As with all Specalis Gen characters, she disappeared a hundred years ago and recently just came back upon the floating city, Serenus, where she was basically mind blown by the technology and overall fact that she had been missing. Despite this though, she's been known to adapt pretty well, so she is surely getting used to her surroundings and even kind of enjoying it. Considering she's only 19, she decided to register for classes in the university and, possibly, may try to find a job if she feels up to it.

Now, personality-wise, we can definitely say that Blythe is not the type of character most other characters would generally like. In a simple sense, if any of you have seen Gossip Girl, she's basically Blair Waldorf. But, to be more in depth, she's a spoiled brat who always thinks she's right and believes the world revolves around her (she came from a high class family and was born with a silver spoon in her mouth.) She's obnoxious, manipulative and she'll use any dirty means to get what she wants, when she wants it and, believe me, she always gets what she wants. She's immature, she's cocky and she's vindictive, as she'll pay back ten fold what was given to her. However, despite this reputation she's been known to have, she still has this intriguing quality to her that still draws people near her and, when she sees the benefit of it, she can be quite friendly and charming. She's also ambitious and, even though she may not have many friends, she does have a sense of loyalty for them, even if she might have a funny way of showing it. Another thing I should probably mention is that if there's a cute guy around, you can be sure that she'll flirt with him, she's not necessarily a slut, but she's known to go through her fair amount of guys as she's the type who likes to have fun.

And I'm sorry for this super wall-of-text post, LOL. I know that, right now, she'd probably only really know Specalis Gen characters, but I definitely would like to plot for future occurrences, as she's definitely a character who would get around a lot as she is sociable. Even if she might seem rather unlikeable, I'm hoping that there are some characters out there who would like to plot with her anyway, haha. "Really, I'm not as bad as you think I am," she says. Anyways, so yes! If you want, you can also ping me at AIM: sogivemereason, or you could just comment here, whatever rocks your boat. I'm excited and I hope to start RPing soon!

This is Steph, with Mary Christmas, my Normalus Gens. God, I don't even know where to start with this one.

She's a bit special, I would say. How many morgue attendants do you know whose name clearly spells out 'Merry Christmas?' She's secretly awaiting a zombie apocalypse, so if that ever happens, that will be her big claim to adventure, right before she runs away screaming. Big imaginations will do that to a person. Meanwhile, she's pretty content down at the morgue.

She has numerous skills, but isn't quite able to apply them to real life. Homosexual musicology was apparently a waste of her time, but is one of the experts to go to if you have antique or vintage housewares.

She has a great grandfather who disappeared during the 2012 purge, so anyone wanting to claim this slightly batty, but sweet woman, feel free. XD.

Hi everyone I’m Wednesday and just in case you’re wondering I was named after Wednesday Adams – from the television series, not the 1991 film. I’m a Fiction Writing major, which means I’m on the computer writing when I’m not reading, watching a film, or, since it’s summer, swimming.

My character’s name is James and he was 28 in the year 2010, although now he’s not sure just how old he is. His hometown is in New Jersey and his previous occupation was an elementary school teacher, although now he plans to teach high school French and English. Below is his personality and if you have any questions about him, I’d be glad to answer them:

James is the guy at the bar who sits alone, fiddling his whiskey and staring off into space, wearing a face that says, “Leave me the fuck alone,” but others often mistake that look for sheer fatigue. When approached by a stranger James will not make eye contact. Instead, he continues to stare at his small surroundings, replying to their words with biting, and most of the time, hurtful, comments. He breaks strangers down until they flee, but if a stranger attempts to match wits and does so successfully (or if they fail and he deems them physically “acceptable”) then his demeanor slowly shifts into a dark, flirtatious one, where he can’t take his eyes off said stranger, coaxing them with words and actions to possibly spend the night, or want to see more, of him.

At work (or at his old occupation) he was the relaxed and “cool” teacher. Who lectured kids from behind his desk, feet propped up, chewed gum while he spoke and let them eat in class. He never followed any of the guidelines set up by the school, but because he taught inner-city kids, and because at least half of his class had passing grades, he was never fired.

Hello all. I am Jansen, and this is Johnny Hyde. So far he's the only one I've got, and unless I just decide to go insane and make another, he'll probably be the last. I live in the EST, he lives on a spaceship. I'm almost 20, he's about 30. He's also a government agent, and I'm a film student. I'm happy to be part of the game, he doesn't know he's in one.

Personality wise, he's basically the most concrete thinker you've ever met. When he was little, he totally didn't understand the concept of 'figures of speech', and now that he's older, he still doesn't really get them, but he can recognise when they are taking place. Other than that, he's pretty normal. Doesn't mind a good joke, but isn't the funniest person you've ever met; likes to work on his own but does fairly well in a team. He's got a really quiet sense of curiosity that makes him research and look stuff up on his own time - thank both of his genius scientist parents for that - so he's somewhat interested in the whole 'antique super people' thing, but not to any all-consuming amount.

And that seems like a decent amount of information. He's up for anything in general though, so hit it.
