Batman vs. the Spartans ...

Another reason DCAU rules. Check out the team-ups in the Batman Brave and the Bold comic book.

This book is every bit as fun as the show.

Wow! Not only Shining Knight (always a favourite), but Kid Eternity! (And silly though it is, how much do I love they left Kid with his odd looking belt/sash thingy?!

And then to cap it all the closest thing to Robotman Kid could call up.

AWESOME! :)

Heck, an issue or so before this, Batman 'teamed up'* with the Haunted Tank. :)

* (And by teamed up, I mean the tank was in a museum and rolled backwards on a villain while Batman wasn't looking.)

While insane with crazy awesomeness Batman the Brave and the Bold is not actually part of the DCAU.

Not all DC animated properties are DCAU. DCAU is basically B:TAS, S:TAS, Batman Beyond, and JL/JLU. Might be forgetting some.

It is animated, and from DC, but it is a different continuity that the Batman Adventures/Superman Adventures/Justice League/Justice League Unlimited/Zeta Project.

There are... what, four DC continuities of animated series. Superfriends (which seems to contain a Batman/Aquaman show, too), DCAU, The Batman, and Batman: The Brave and the Bold.

Teen Titans Go is sort of half-connected to DCAU, and Ben10 is sort of tangentally related to the comic properties, being kiiind of Dial H for Hero influenced.

Right. Static Shock is half-connected to DCAU. Didn't start that way, but was folded in. DCAU is a LOT like DC Comics, isn't it? :)

Teen Titans Go is sort of half-connected to DCAU

Well, no it's really not, as we never see any evidence that they're part of the same continuity, apart from one reference to Robin being with the Teen Titans in a Static episode which aired before the Titans started their run, and there being nothing to imply it's the SAME Teen Titans.

Well, there was a Speedy who looked awfully like the TTG! Speedy, and I'm pretty sure Flash and Kid Flash were played by the same voice actor?

Speedy was also voiced by the same actor in both series but that might have just been a nod. TTG has Dick as robin and it really doesnt fit in with the continuity of BTAS

Hmmm... so I guess this means that Justin isn't alive and well in the present time in B&tB Universe since Kid Eternity can channel him. Another point against the series being in continuity with the original DCAU.

Also, shouldn't he just channel Justin himself? How did Winged Victory get there?

(Reply to this) (Thread)

[info]psychop_rex
2009-09-21 04:12 am UTC (link)
I don't think he channels ONLY the historical figures themselves - he summons them along with all their general accoutrements, otherwise they'd all be naked, wouldn't they? It'd be like the Terminator, only instead of getting kill-happy cyborgs, you'd get confused and embarrassed naked historical figures, which wouldn't be much use in combat. And really, you can't have the Shining Knight without a flying horse. 'Twould not be proper.
