Loeb's Batman, especially towards the end with his run with the character, was kind of iffy, especially since he seemed to push really hard to have the character kill someone or be willing to stand aside while that happened. He had Batman almost kill the Joker during HUSH, only to be stopped by Gordon, he had him to be willing to let Clark kill Lex and at the end of the timeline thing he had a recovered Batman kill Ra's and some guards and then went on crow in the narration that does it count if one kills while feeling like he was in a dream. He was so desperate to leave a longer term mark on the character, to fundamantelly change Bruce Wayne, that it resulted the character becoming more and more incoherent.
Also agreed on the tactical sense and that is a part of my complaint. Have Batman deploy a tactic against Wondy which makes sense and I'm okay with her killing him. Instead we have him engage a metahuman in a straight-up fight, which is kind of insane.
