War of Kings: Who Shall Rule?
War of Kings is over, and it's time to pick up the pieces.
Previews from WOR: Who Shall Rule #1

Here is the link to the Preview from Cosmic Book News.

I like this outfit. It maintains the Kryptonian nods to you-know-who, while freeing him up to be his own person.

Now, I will go on a tangent here. In my opinion, not exactly his own person, but following on the footsteps of another. Kallark seems to be stuck in the role of another gladiator: General Maximus Decimus Meridius, had he survived when Commodus fell. The political aftermath and the dealing with enemies and allies alike, and how delicate everything is. And to hear that the Shi'ar are in civil war again (as Vulcan came to power) it really sets up interesting political intrigue in future Marvel cosmic issues.

Would Maximus take up the role, if Gladiator doesn't accept it? Ronan? One of the Royal Family?

*edit* corrected link.

I kinda wish I waited for the collected edition of this story when I found out how much content is in the hardcover coming out in November. True it's 40 bucks retail but you get almost 500 pages.

Yeah I know right? You get all the main series, all the Ascension issues plus the 2 issue Darkhawk prologue, both Warriors issues which were kinda prequel character studies, the Sakaar one-shot, a Marvel Spotlight book, and finally the Who will Rule? epilogue issue. It would be nice if Marvel put the main and Ascension issues in chronological order but I kinda doubt it.

I really liked the idea of the Inhumans are the Kree royal family. Alas!

At least Liandria is finally totally dead. THAT was overdue.

she's technically part of the X-Men's cast. how long do you suppose it'll stick?

I kinda think her death will last awhile, unless a writer really wants to use her in the future.

Or if editorial picks her name out of a hat for some crossover event or other.

Let's not forget this Blackest Night Necropolis event that's gonna start tearing through X-Books in the next month or so.

Too right. After all, there was a weekly series named after a number that we can do much better than (even if the fans loved it, what do they know)!

I don't think it's fair to call the Necrosha story a Blackest Night ripoff as hints about it began in the early issues of X-Force. And the only tie-ins to the story are a 3 issues New Mutants arc and a slightly longer one for X-Men Legacy so you can probably just read the main story in X-Force and not miss anything.

The outfit is Gladiator at his best I believe. Very nice.

When you refer to Maximus getting appointed Regent, are you talking about this guy, 'General Maximus Decimus Meridius', who I've never heard of, or Black Bolt's brother, who would fit right in as far as crazy Shi'ar emperors..

Maximus the Mad of the Inhumans.

I was hoping Vulcan and Maximus would have tangled, seeing as how Maximus is a psi-talent.

I've been enjoying this storyline. I still think that the Inhumans days as rulers of the Kree are numbered.
