Unsurprisingly, it ends badly between Ursula and Sundra.

So here are a couple of pages from Nexus #102, also known as Nexus: Space Opera #4. I think this counts as confirmation of what I have long suspected about Sundra and Ursula.

A couple of pages later, Sundra gives Ursula her answer. Spoiler: it isn't yes.

So, to be honest, I don't know how I feel about this. It's hard to believe they would really kill off Ursula Imada, since she's the sort of person whom you figured would always survive, and even find a way to come out on top. It's hard to believe she's really gone.

I feel Steve Rude tends to be underrated. Especially in his page layout skills.

He is certainly not overrated, since I'm pretty sure that would be physically impossible. That being said, he was just acknowledged in the A.V. Club feature "Reinventing the Pencil: 21 Artists Who Changed Mainstream Comics (for Better or Worse)." Don't worry, he was clearly one of the former. So I'm not sure he's underrated either. In fact, I don't know anyone who's familiar with his work who wouldn't rate him as one of the greatest artists ever to work in comics.

After all the time I waited for this issue I found it a poor read you can almost feel Steve Rude has lost his love for comic artwork and thats a real shame, on top of that he finally got his wish to kill off Ursula Imada

Really? I had some issues with the story, as I said in the original post, but I loved the art. It seems to me that Rude's work remains excellent. Was it Rude who really wanted to kill Ursula? I never knew that. You're definitely right, though, that it took a very long time for this issue to come out. That being said, Rude has said that he wants to change the way Rude Dude Studios operates to avoid long wait times like this in the future. And if he really felt the way you're describing, I don't think he would bother continuing to work in comics at all. Instead, he's working on inventing new characters and starting new titles (albeit slowly); that doesn't strike me as the behavior of someone who has lost his love for comics. But I have no information beyond that into the mind of Steve Rude.

Hes moving into full time painting and hoping to get them into galleries and keeping comic art part time, saying that 80% of the next 4 part The Moth story is done and he hopes to get it printed when he finds the money to but as a trade paperback not as single comics, Hes found that RudeDude is not making any money so needed to find new ways to pay the bills. He finds Marvel and DC have both gone very dark with there comics and that was the main reason for starting Rudrdude to bring the fun back, I get most of this info from Steve himself by Myspace/facebook/emails he sends out, but thanks for putting the scans up its always good to see Nexus talked about

Well, we've all got to live with financial realities. If Rude Dude Studios isn't turning a profit, he's got to find a way to pay the bills, and he can only afford to print that next Moth story, or anything else, when he has the money to do so. As for Marvel and DC having gotten really dark in a lot of their storytelling, well, I don't think he's entirely wrong, although heaven knows that Nexus can get pretty dark at times too, as I think these very scans illustrate. But you're more than welcome to the scans. I'm a huge Nexus fan, so I try to post stuff from it every so often.

Hunh. I read the Nexus series all the way up to the Fatty Nexus arc, and I never would've guessed based on Ursula's shitty treatment of Sundra. Still, she was a champion emotional manipulator. Hardly beyond her to try to sucker a loyal minion back.

The art has suffered. I'm guessing the colorist is at fault.

Well, if you stopped all the way back when Horatio gained weight and was on drugs, then you missed a lot about Sundra and Ursula and their history. Also, I have to disagree about the art. I think it still looks gorgeous.
