Daken Probably Writes Slashfic.
Greetings True Believers! I bring you scans from "Dark" Wolverine #76 Daken visits the the Fantastic Four and course meets new friends. Marvel is taking Daken's Bisexuality (Or is it?) and beating the reader over the head with it. So spoilers and help Daken pick out his fave pairings!






So Daken is trying to set-up a double-cross or triple-cross or a 4-cross involving the FF and DA. So far one of Bulleye's arrows ended up in the leg of Johnny Storm. An arrow that looks like the one Bullseye fired into Daken's chest earlier that day. But who put there? And exactly who is Daken betraying? We don't know yet.

This are the scenes when Daken sneaks off to talk to the FF. They don't know he's coming.
(BTW, Daken has the power to control a person's emotional state via pheromones.)














So he ships Johnny/Ben? Ooooh, Daken is so dark and edgy.....Ok, he's silly but maybe the character find his way so or later.

What, just because every time he writes a gay or bi character, their sexuality is, to him, the only defining characteristic of their personalities, so he goes on and on about it in a way he'd never have a straight person talk? Now that's just crazy talk.

Bisexuality as a superpower. Hm.

Suggesting bisexuality in others is an established superpower in Marvel comics! In Cable and Deadpool, Black Mamba does this.

Except instead of getting violent and angry everyone stood around awkwardly.

what is it about wolverine's and batman's kids that make their faces so attractive to concrete?

I haven't read Marvel in a looong time. Is the Thing unsure of his sexuality nowadays?

Yes, and Daken knows you like him, and he is totally not into you. Everyone says so in French class.

(That phrasing--"You like me." Adults don't say it that way. It just struck me it sounds so oddly...junior high for Daken)

Not sure if I should laugh or roll my eyes at the "Daken walks around, makes everybody uncomfortable" plot here, but I do dig the art here quite a lot.
Ben looks suitable monstrous, also, he appears to grow twice his size during the fight scene.

I want Daken to shut up and stop being so petty, but I like his hair (and find it fitting for the Son of Logan) and am amused by the fact that he's wearing, what, Vans? Little real-boy shoes!

Actually now I consider, I kind of resent how much he look like someone I would invent here. :/.

Daken!stupidity aside, I really like the way Ben's drawn and colored in these panels. It's kind of a really well done halfway point between the original rocky-faced, expressionless Thing and the more modern Ben Grimm design.

I don't get why everyone craps on Daken. He is an interesting character. All the criticisms of him seem so unfounded. He is not one dimensional. We just aren't privy to his internal motivations yet so it's all a bit mysterious still. I'm okay with that. Also, there have been no hints that Daken is bisexual. You are taking it too much at face value. He's not bisexual. He's just good at manipulating men AND women, with whatever means he can, including the pheromone thing.( well, I'm also thinking about purchasing a small bottle of this love potion in the nearest sex toys shop =)
