Boisterous Strongmen of Marvel Comics

Four scans from Incredible Hercules #131 and four from Immortal Weapons #1: Fat Cobra.

The dynamic duo wraps up its journey to Hades: Herc's display of devotion to Zeus, in spite of Zeus' constantly being an ass, makes Zeus realize that Herc has successfully broken the cycle of Gods screwing over their fathers, and so he voluntarily drinks from the Lethe. Elsewhere, Cho talks with mom and dad, but his little sister Maddy isn't there, which, despite some obvious concerns, causes him to conclude she isn't dead. He concludes that Athena knew about this, and also that she used to co-control the company that murdered his parents, so decides he isn't going to trust her, and leaves Aegis.

Awww...

Much like the "is Athena a Skrull?" thing, the fact that her potential complicity has been so forthrightly presented upfront makes it highly unlikely she's actually involved.

Elsewhere, Fat Cobra, because of all his boozing and getting whacked on the head, doesn't remember much about his past, so he hired a writer to research it all. Turns out his history isn't nearly as glorious as he thought it was (there's a reason that he doesn't want to remember it), but there were some bright spots:

He also teams up with Nick Fury to fight werewolves on the moon.

He's also had quite a romantic history; most were one-night stands...

This goes on for a bit...

After beating Danny, Fat Cobra yelled for them to bring him his "Victory Wenches."

He called for his Wenches of Waiting after agreeing to let the Prince of Orphans fight Davos while he sat on the sidelines, even though it had been his turn to fight.

Hence, in my mind at least, the Victory Wenches are for celebrating victories. The Wenches of Waiting are for when he's waiting for his next match.

Having had my ass handed to me in utter humiliation by the hot girl in my dojo who did go braless underneath her tunic, that was the best ass kicking I have ever had.

Cho just should've bit off Athena's head and be done with it, and have her give him an explanation. Now he's set up a heroes quest for himself,but without guidance it may turn him into a villain.

Love that last page. All the visuals ideas...

I think that it's a reference to a story that Sylvester Stallone used to tell about how he dodged the Vietnam draft by teaching phys ed at a Swiss girls' school. (He changed his story around the time that Rambo came out, saying that he was 4F because of some vague medical condition. He did attend the American College of Switzerland for a few years, but dropped out before graduation.)
