The Monocle on page 6 and the whole Rag Doll sequence(oh, and the Mist) I thought were the coolest dam thing when I was a kid. They still look good. Just totally vicious old-school bastards, from a generation where you killed your enemies on Valentine's Day, after all.

When i was putting this together I thought to myself. Why not just have the current JSA get sucked into Ragnarok again,,,and pick up with the new Earth 2 again ?????

Because that would mean no more Stargirl, and [info]jarodrussell would have to go on a killing spree.

I loved that sequence too, but I liked them because they didn't seem like "vicious old-school bastards". They're professional criminals, with the risks that that entails, but you pays your money and you takes your choices. They seemed to me the way the Rogues are now, they probably won't TRY to kill you but won't shed any tears if they do, and they'd buy you a beer (or in the case of the Monocle, a glass of a nice claret) with their ill gotten gains. And Rag Doll and Monocle make a great "odd couple"

The Mist on the other hand WAS a sick bastard and started me thinking about what an unspeakably COOL power intangibility and/or a gaseous form could be.

Skins? Lord no.... I did watch the first episode of the second season to see Bill Bailey, who managed to outperform the entire rest of the cast combined by, literally, linedancing with a dog without saying a word.

On the other hand it did introduce me to the rather lovely Mitch Hewer as Maxxie....

Lord, possibly interesting, but at a basic level I hope not. Two hot young guys in the TARDIS is a nice mental image (Leopardskin Console room anyone?), but I have the problem that I don't think Mitch Hewer can act for toffee (Lovely little dancer, and has a face that the camera, rightly, adores, but can't emote to save his life IMHO),

Hey, he meets all the requirements for an assistant. Travelled in the TARDIS by invitation, accepted (albeit reluctantly) by the Doctor... :)

Ah McKenzie Crook... sort of the antimatter equivalent of Mitch Hewer. Not really a fan of his either I'm afraid.
