er...CapWolf ?
Theme suggestion, Instead of "one perfect moment" how about the other end of the spectrum. When was a character so miss-handled or written it made your eyes bleed and you screamed "NOoooo !"

Worst moment ever.

I give you Cap-wolf...

Hmmm, maybe a Wolverine appearance will help ? (Nope)

He doesn't even look like a wolf. More like Lassie standing up.

The fact this was probably done solely to provide an excuse for a Wolverine fight is just the snot on the turd sundae. Nice one.

And I like the idea of a "worst moments" theme, a lot.

LOL! I love that were-Cap is blond.
Also in the panel where were-Cap tries to "talk" to Logan its like he's all "I can has friend?" and Wolverine is like "Hell Noez!"

Gruenwald had some good Cap moments, but oh dear god, Cap-Wolf was not one of them.

Someone should've told the writer that animals don't think in words, period, let alone sentence fragments. This scene could've worked without interior monologue and with more emphasis on his expressions and gestures.

So Wolverine, the guy with an enhanced sense of smell (Which could, ya know, clue him in on if this guy was Cap or not), isn't going to question the giant werewolf inexplicably dressed like Captain America.

Really.

I must say, Civil War aside, this is Cap's lowest moment.

I honestly don't see what's so bad about this. I wouldn't call it good or anything, but there's nothing horrendous in what I see here. It reads like your run-of-the-mill mediocre comic to me.

A "worst moments" theme week is a good idea...if we treat it like Mystery Science Theater and mock the crap out of everything. It's that or cover our eyes and cringe repeatedly.

Oh, I can think of one definitively worse Cap moment (Which I bet someone is queuing up as we speak): The "climax" of the "Iron Cap" storyline.

Long time S_D brethren will know exactly which scene I speak of.

I'm in favour of Worst Moments Ever Week...as long as it doesn't consist entirely of scans from One More Day, late-period Frank Miller, Final Infinite Multiple Secret Crisis Wars and all the other stuff that's been done to death here. Let's cast the net wide and deep, people!

Personally, I kinda like this - a werewolf Captain America is just so bizarre that my twisted little mind accepts it and begs for more. I demand a team of monster Avengers! We've already got CapWolf, so let's see... The Vision would be a natural for Frankenstein, Spidey could be the Mummy - 'cause, you know, spiders mummifying their prey - Hank Pym, of course, would be the Incredible Shrinking Man, and just for balance, Jan would be the Fifty-Foot Woman; Tony would be the vampire who sleeps in his armor by day - always keeping, of course, some of his native soil in it - Pietro could be the Invisible Man, by vibrating his cells so fast he couldn't be seen; Wanda would be the scary Gypsy woman who foretells doom, Namor could be the Creature from the Black Lagoon, and the Hulk, of course, would be Dr. Jekyll. Well? Well? Can't you see it?

If this were a "direction", and not just a storyline intended from the start to be quite temporary, it would be really bad. For what it is, though, it's a bit weird but not really out of line. Strange things happen in the world of superhuman crimefighting.

Of course, I also have a soft spot for the late great Mark Gruenwald, who had honestly deteriorated from his earlier lofty heights by this point in his run but still deserves any amount of slack that could possibly be given. He was one of the best, and had more than earned his place by this point.

I -loved- Mark Gruenwald's stuff, especially his Cap run. At the end tho, I think his illness was inhibiting his writing, because a lot of arcs didn't come close to the coolness of the earlier ones. Capwolf being one of those.

Of course, the fact that he was increasingly drawn by less talented artists like Dave Hoover didn't help.

Wow.

I have no words. Were!Caps little red boxes of word think are getting to me. Make me sad for Cap. Him not think good.

I kind of love it. On the other hand, maybe I'm just a pushover for dogs in peril. Also for Cap, so...

And I don't know if he's a running character or not? But Dredmund vs. Dr. Druid? Great names, comics!

I think I'd probably say "no" to that, or not take part much in any event.

It's just... too negative and potentially excruciatingly bitchy, and that gets old to me, very quickly.

Plus, if I didn't enjoy the comic, why would I want to share it? (Even if I'd kept it)
