Freedom Force gainst the menace of SHADOW!

Upon request, I have provided a few scans from the Freedom Force comics (they aren't, however, my scans) that was released prior to Freedom Force vs. the Third Reich. The comics basically recaps the story of the original Freedom Force game.

It's a standard 24 page comic. The issue contains basically two stories (first one dealing with Pinstripe but then this one) but they follow each other seamlessly (there's no interruption at all, and it was always separate issues)

This is my first time using the new Scans_Daily so I apologize if I get anything wrong in advance.

As they return from fighting dinosaurs, Freedom Force is attacked by giant ants!

As they make their way into the undeground labyrnith from which the ants came, they encounter a young man who pleads with them to leave and threatens violence if they do not.

And so end's Freedom Force's confrontation with the Nefarious Shadow!

I heard somewhere that in the game, after you unmask her, Shadow's own henchmen turn on her because she's trained them to attack anything beautiful on sight.

I really should get this game off of steam, if I just had the cash.

You really should, Freedom Force is awesomesauce.

I especially love the fact that all the characters are immediately recognizable, but they are usually mashups of different characters with their own spin on things.

Yes, the Darkmen do... sort of swarm Shadow in the game. I wonder why they took that part out in the comic adaptation.

Steam has a special deal of both FF and FF vs. The Third Reich for $7.49.

I love how your final comment before the scans begins is mirrored almost directly by the first bit of dialogue, like an old Silver Age narration.

[Quickly, Freedom Force leaps into action!]
"Come on, Freedom Force! Let's leap into action!"
*they leap into action*

Thanks so much for posting this! I really need to track these issues down ASAP. I loved the first game and I thought a comic series based on it would be awesome.

Ah, memories. On the old Freedom Force message boards, "How do you beat Shadow?" was one of the most common FAQs -- as in the comic, you had to knock down pillars to let the light in, and unless you happened to damage one of them by accident, they were easy to overlook.

So for her minions, she has an army of Desaads?
