Go lois! Love the showers scene with the grenade, with how she handle the saturation and the ending.
I love how she assumes that because she got rid of the grenade, she must be perfectly safe enough to take a shower of relief.
haha, my thoughts exactly
D'oh I meant Situation. :P
Stories like these remind me why I love Lois. Love how she just goes right back to the shower after she almost gets blown up, lol.
That is perhaps the most fantastic thing I've read it quite some time. It has it all. Danger! Excitment! Cheesecake!

Nice if bizarre underwear-and-grenade scene. But Lois must be something much more than an adrenaline junkie to smile about it afterward. But Superman's coffee-making--ugh! That has to have been the worst cuppa in the world! You NEVER boil coffee!!
I've said it before and I'll say it again: Lois Lane lacks the gene for self-preservation. And it is awesome.
I always say that she has an underdeveloped sense of self-preservation. It's good to know that there's a consensus about that.
HOW kickass is this woman? This is the reason this woman was my prepubescent girl-crush, Disney Princesses be damned.
Appropos of nothing, I've been itching to read a team-up with her and Robin. Timmy's such an over-cautious control-freak that Lois's lack of self-preservation instinct would probably fray on his last nerve. World's Most Intrepid Investigative Journalist meets World's Second Greatest Detective - who shall come out on top? *pimps bunny*
It's been said already but...she gets rid of the grenade and goes back to her invigorating shower. Lois Lane, ladies and gentlemen. Lois Lane.
Crazy lady. Source of her powers are caffeine and adrenaline. :)
Your icon's beautiful. May I ask what it's from?
That's from For Tomorrow Which is a beautiful, if completely incomprehensible story from Brian Azzarello and Jim Lee.
What queenrikki said. If we could just get Jim Lee art without the Frank Miller writing these days.... :)
Heh. ASBAR's officially on hiatus, though... so it's not like we're going to even that. If, you know, we wanted it.
I adore how kickass Lois is, and the scene between Superman and her at the beginning is adorable.
That being said, I am 1) in awe of how her hair stays in place all through the issue, including after a whole night of typing, 2) thinking this still ain't the most flattering haircut, Lois.
I really hate this hairstyle. I keep thinking that maybe it isn't that awful but then I see it again an no it is just that bad (though I think I'd take this over the short 'do she had a couple years back and that's really saying something).
I think the daily planet is a pretty cool guy. Eh publishes expose's and doesn't afraid of anything.

No wonder Superman loves her.
This Bronze Age characterization of Lois is so, so much better than the near-pathological early-Golden Age version (who alternated between verbally abusing Clark and literally throwing herself at Superman), or the Silver Age version (who spent all her time trying to get Superman to marry her and not Lana).
that actually must have been a pretty weak grenade if all it did was knock over the garbage cans.

Waitaminute. If she lives in an apartment building, presumably in a floor near the roof... how did a grenade get all the way up there from the ground and not blow up while doing so?
Someone probably climbed up the fire escape and lobbed it in, then beat it.
LOL. This is awesome! Go Lois!
One thing I love about old Superman comics is that Supes is just casually hanging around the office at random times of the day and night, and nobody acts like it's in any way unusual. It's like, you've got your office boy, your reporters, the editor, a couple of photographers waiting for an assignment, the Man of Steel - just your ordinary newsroom, really. I mean, can you imagine Batman dropping by the Gotham Central Precinct to snag a doughnut and some gossip on his way home?
Imagining that made me laugh.
It's not impossible - he used to play on the GCPD baseball team.
I know a very hilarious thought. |
