There does some to be a dominance of light, breezy entertainment out there. In earlier generations, there would be a spate of movies (maybe five to ten years after a war)revealing how awful war was, as opposed to the sort of gung ho let's-get-em flicks made during the war itself. After Viet Nam, we went from John Wayne's simplistic THE GREEN BERETS to stuff like THE DEER HUNTER and APOCALYPSE NOW.
I dunno, somehow I don't think we're going to see a rush of movies exposing what really happened in Iraq. Somehow it seems like it will be a "forgotten war" pretty quickly.
