I personally didn't care for it. Victor was the only one of the New X-men kids who was well adjusted and level headed, he was a good leader who didn't freak out when things got bad. He had the least amount of emotional baggage and in that story we got this huge abrupt change in the character and out of nowhere the kid got all of these issues and symptoms that he didn't exhibit before.
He became so unreasonable and he started hating and blaming the X-men for so much, he even attacked Northstar, his friend and mentor, for trying to help him.
The New X-men did need a PTSD story, they literally went through hell, but it shouldn't have been Anole. It went against pretty all past characterization he had before it.
But since Marvel did go the PTSD route with him, they should have followed through. They shouldn't have put him back out on the front lines in Young X-men, because really how is adding someone who has PTSD and trust issues with the X-men to an already fragile team structure a good idea?
Ever since this Divided We Stand story my opinion of Anole has been on a downhill slope, I find myself liking him less and less.
