Meanwhile, Wolverine (in Peter's body) is mouthing off to Aunt May and being a pervert with MJ. It was a fun story.

I could be wrong, but I'm pretty certain that Peter isn't Jewish. I always got the impression that he was raised in one of those theoretically-Christian-but-not-really-in-practice sort of households - and I say this about both versions of him, mainstream and Ultimate, although particularly the Ultimate, since the Ultimate May and Ben have a somewhat left-wing, hippyish background, which generally doesn't go with being particularly religious.

Not just for the Jewish anymore. Even back in the 40s/50's, circumcision ran at about 70% of male babies in the US, at least according to one estimate, and there's no way in hell they were all Jewish. Logan, on the other hand, is more than old enough that he probably wouldn't have been circumcised without being Jewish.

There's been a rising anticircumcision movement in recent years, but there have also been quite a few medical types arguing even more recently that it helps prevent HIV infection and other STDs.

Well, all right, but this isn't the 40's/50's, this is modern day. Anyway, what possible reason do we have to believe that Peter is circumcised? There's a much simpler explanation - Peter is a fifteen-year-old kid in the middle of puberty, and Logan is an adult stuffed full to bursting with testosterone. There's a certain development that goes on there - Wolvie's tallywhacker is probably a good deal more, eh, sizable than Petey's.

Oh, for- Fine, then, there's still a good chance he is, even in "modern day". I can't remember if he was 15 at the time of the first Ultimate Spidey issue, but if he was, that puts his birth year at 1985. The rate in the Northeast region at the time was anywhere between 65.7% and 78.2%, depending on which organization's survey you go by.

And this is getting way too far away from the original joke comment, so I'm calling this the end of it from my side.

I think Ultimate Spidey has a tendency for Jewish slang (because Bendis is Jewish) which confused some people, so he had Spidey say "Oy vey, and I'm not even Jewish."
