Triumph's One Perfect Moment
Ah Triumph. One of the most tragic comic characters their perhaps ever was. But let's forget about that and remember his one high point from Justice League America #92 (his intro issue)

And since from what I've seen SD knows next to nothing about Triumph...

He was a hero who existed canonically before the Justice League formed in fact bringing together the members who formed the original Justice League. (Black Canary, Flash, Aquaman, Martian Manhunter and Green Lantern).  He brought them together to stop an alien attack on Earth, the aliens attacking the planets core which would've destroyed the planet had he not brought the League together. Throughout the issue he constantly was annoyed since the League didn't follow his orders to the letter even though it would've been the easiest and most efficient thing to do. Basically he was always right but the League din't really listen to him. He then had to save his plan by going into the machine that was affecting the planet's core and super charged him and he then targeted the mining machine attacking the core. But the massive energy  ripped open a hole in time and made the world and everyone forget about him and the aliens.

I'll post more of his orgin if anyone wants.

Ah yes Triumph. Such a dumb premise to base a character on. He's DC's Sentry, except without an inexplicable amount of exposure and writer interest.

I don't know about bad premise. I love his story myself. But most writer's don't give a damn about him, true.

I just don't like the concept of inserting a "legendary" but forgotten hero into an established continuity. It's fine for universes that don't have this kind of history, but putting your own character to stand shoulder-to-shoulder with Superman, Batman, The Avengers or whatever just feels cheap.

he was created well before the Sentry.

I always disliked they turned Triumph heel. I thought he had a nice relationship going with Martian Manhunter and L-Ron/Despero in JLTF (I think I'm the only one that liked that series...).

I was happy he was back in Trinity. I wish he could have gotten the Tomorrow Woman treatment too.

Well I loved him in Trinity too. And since I lurp Triumph and Tomorrow Woman I was happy they almost seemed like a couple. But sadly his appearance's didn't catch people's attention quite like Tommie's did.

Back after COIE, Superman wasn't a founder of the JLA, so they needed someone to take his place. They created Triumph, and nobody cared.

They eventually killed Triumph, and nobody cared.

They brought him back in Trinity . . . and nobody cared.

There's a kernel of awesome in him somewhere, but for some reason, he just can't get the recognition he deserves.

Sorry, but I have to disagree. He's a nobody manufactured to fill the empty space where an iconic character who is awesome should be, and would be if not for the demands of the sliding timeline.

"Superman wasn't a founder of the JLA, so they needed someone to take his place."
Powerwise, I think Martian Manhunter has Superman covered.
