It was too dark, no pun intended. The whole idea that Batman had to be some great enemy is stupid, the Batman is a symbol of hope for the helpless and terror for the unjust. Combined with Heath Ledger acting/talking like he had something sticky of his lips the whole time and Lucius Fox's "ZOMG NO1 SHUD HAVE THIS POWR!" with the phone-sonar after his "Here, have a rocket-powered car" from the first movie, it just irritated me. I could almost feel the current stable of DC writers creeping into the story, insisting that making Batman a paragon of unquestionable nobility and virtue was boring.
