Golden Age Wonder Woman
These are from Sensation Comics #23, published in November 1943. In this issue, someone uses the Joker's M.O. to thwart the war effort.

Wonder Woman sends the Holliday girls in, who, as always, are only too ready for an adventure:

And thankfully, one of them is able to avoid wearing the deadly overalls:

Oh, dear. Five pages in and still no bondage. Quick!

Obviously the message here is that everything can be solved by stripping!

Hooray!

The Joker would be pissed at seeing his bit stolen like this.

especially against the Allied war effort. He may be a criminal lunatic but he's an AMERICAN criminal lunatic!

Now someone needs to post some scans of the Joker saying he'll return his stolen WWII bomber when he's done with it so that it can go back to bombing the Japanese.

There's a crossover event involving the Red Skull where that gets brought up. :)

I'm distracted by how these girls seem to be wearing overalls over skirts. Isn't that uncomfortable?

You'd think they'd at least have them hiked up to the waist...but we musn't show the kiddies underwear...just bondage!

I just want to know how they first found out that taking the overalls off would help. I mean, I see someone laughing like a lunatic, my first instinct is not to take of her pants just in case. Maybe that's just me?

removing stuff to make sure air wasn't constricted? Taken to a hospital and put into the embarrasing gown?

"Quick help me get her overalls off!
And that will help them stop laughing?
Sure let's go with that."

Holliday Girls motto: When in doubt, take off the women's pants.

I'm just curious. Do the Holliday girls have names? Is is the same ones all the time or just generic pretty coeds?

Etta's the only one who consistently has a name - I think the idea is that basically her whole sorority makes up the Holliday girls, so precisely which ones are doing 'Wonder Woman duty' at any given time changes quite a bit.

What [info]psychop_rex said. Girls other than Etta get names on a regular basis, because they're often the source of that month's plot - a Holliday girl will invent something, or get into some kind of trouble with a man, or a hazing ritual will go wrong, or whatever, and the story will revolve around solving the troubles of that particular member of the sorority, but those characters aren't recurring, and there's usually nothing to link them to any of the nameless extras seen in other stories.
